“I’d like to think it was a reference to Snow White mythology, “Mirror, mirror on the wall who has the fairest New York real-estate market of them all?””

"Eigengrau" at Storefront Bushwick

”Eigengrau,” a German word meaning “intrinsic gray”—also referred to as dark light or brain gray—the color seen by the eye in perfect darkness is the title of the 2 person show at Storefront Bushwick.

Lauren Seiden had these pieces that looked like draped fabric, mountains, etc. Loved the depth and the shadows it’s peaks created and the texture.

*I don’t know the title of this one but it’s made of graphite and pencil shavings on paper wrapped on stretcher bars

I loved Frank Webster’s paintings. HIs landscapes were so familiar to me, they are what I’ve known my whole life growing up in New York. The random lonely tree(s) among buildings are so sweet and contemporary. His compositions are so tight, but not claustrophobic, as they are exteriors.

* I don’t know the title to this one, as nothing was labeled at the gallery.

This was my favorite one though.

In the project space were works by Jolynn Krystosek, she made these felt and gold leaf sculptures that were mounted on the wall. Reminiscent of seashells.
