Sign upSTOP THE PROTECT-IP ACT
The PROTECT-IP act claims to protect against infringement on the internet but all it does is infringe upon our First Amendment right to freedom of speech. If you give a crap about reblogging pictures of cats and hot naked girls, you should give a crap about this bill because if it passes, tumblr is gone. Facebook is gone. Twitter is gone. All those sites that were revolutionary in other countries during the uprisings against oppressive governments? They’re gonna be gone. Remember all the people who live-tweeted the riots in Egypt? They’re trying to stop us from being able to do that. So we won’t be able to oppose our own oppressive government. You know how people can’t go to websites in other countries? That giant firewall in China that prevents them from reading about anything the government doesn’t want the people to know about? It’s coming.
Don’t just sit there and do nothing. This bill is illegal and needs to be stopped.
These are all the links that I know of right now, I’ll add more if I find them. Sign the petitions, contact your representatives. Let your voice be heard. It WILL make a difference.

STILL DON’T KNOW WHO YOUR REPRESENTATIVE IS?
Use your Tumblr to help fight censorship.
americancensorship.orgWe’ve put a “Stop Censorship” tab at the top of our Tumblr to speak out against the SOPA and PIPA bills currently in the House and Senate.
As noted in a recent e-mail from Fight for the Future:
The Internet Censorship Bill took a massive beating last week (yeah, you did that!) but drug companies, movie studios and the Chamber of Commerce do *not* go down easy.
Now— get this— they’re telling Congress it’s a “jobs” bill.
This is dangerous. Everyone in Congress is desperate to do something to create jobs. Now the most powerful lobbies in Washington are banging down their doors, saying “this is your (only) chance to pass a jobs bill.”
The link above will give you instructions on how you can put a “Stop Censorship” tab at the top of your own Tumblr and join the campaign.
My inner troll in the depths of it’s dark, lonely, putrid lair, whispers to me “Think about it, K-Bo. You can be the troll of trolls, the uber-troll, the GOD troll…just say it….”
“I support SOPA/PIPA.”
“….”
“Actually, that’s too low even for a troll. Just gonna stick with harassing socially-handicapped children.”
And foul-smelling beast slinks back into the pit.

I’m sure you’ve heard by now that SOPA is bad and would ruin the Internet, but have you actually read the bill? If not, it’s worth reading, for two reasons. First, if you are going to oppose a bill, you should know exactly what you’re opposing, not just the vague principle behind it. Second, …
