So we all know how much Bryke loves to torture us right?
I had this silly thought just now.
What if like in the last episode of the last season of Korra they started it out with a timeskip of several months (or a year or two) after the episode preceding it—which ended with a terrible Makorra fight. And it would start with Mako working at the police station at his desk working on some papers (or something) and frowning like the hot concentrated cop he obviously is. And we’d be all
because we’d think he’s all sad and that things with Korra weren’t going well or that they were broken up.
Then his coworker/assistant would come in and tell him he has a phone-call and he’d perk up and be all “Is it my wife/fiancée?”
THEN WE’D ALL BE LIKE
And then we’d get Korra on the phone all like “Hey Hotstuff! How’s your first day as the chief’s assistant going?”
AND WE’D GET SOME CUTE MAKORRA BANTERING AND OUR SHIPPER HEARTS WOULD GUSH AND FLIP FLOP AND DO ALL THOSE GREAT THINGS.
AT SOME POINT THERE WOULD BE SOME OF THIS:
“You know, this house is kinda lonely right now, I could use some entertainment if you know what I mean… When are you coming home?”
And in the end he would say, “How’s the baby?”
THE EPISODE WOULD END WITH MAKO GOING HOME FROM WORK AT TO HIS FAMILY WITH EITHER A PREGNANT KORRA OR A STEAMBABY RUNNING TO HUG DADDY!MAKO.
Then the whole fandom would explode in million pieces of screaming and flailing and fluffy epicness. And die from too much fangasm.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT GIVE ZUTARA BABIES NAMES LIKE “ARABELLA” AND “AIDEN”
DO I NEED TO REPEAT IT AGAIN
ATLA IS ASIA-INSPIRED AND MOST OF THE NAMES ARE EITHER ACTUAL ASIAN NAMES OR ARE ASIA-INSPIRED IN SOME WAY
Edit: And if you’re looking for actual East Asian names, go to 20000 Names and look under the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean sections. Or talk to an East Asian person.
[A/N] For iridescent-isolation :3
Prompt: steambabies! (and enough sappyness to kill a fangirl)
Zuko stumbles home, his vision blurred around the edges. His head hurts; scratch that, everything hurts. His wife is going to kill him.
In his defense, though, Toph did spike his drink.
Prove the Point - 5
what: Korra likes to give Mako nicknames - partly because he makes it so easy, and partly because she thinks it’s hilarious that he always proves her point. A one-shot series.
who: Mako & Korra & Rai Li (ray-lee) & Kouri (corey). Makorra.
when: about twelve-fifteen years post-series/post this point in the series.
where: Republic City Park.
Exactly how she’s managed to retain most of her strength after everything – sitting through council meetings day in and day out and years of sudden inactivity and two pregnancies and time – Korra doesn’t know, but she does know that she’s thankful for it as she catches up to Rai Li and snatches her up, throws her over her shoulder, dangling upside-down by her legs while she shrieks with laughter.
“Mommy!” Rai squeals. “Put me down!”
Korra secures her grip on her daughter’s ankles. “No can do, kiddo.”
She whirls around – Rai Li squeals some more – and calls to her husband, lagging behind, “Hey, Slowpoke! Wanna hurry up and get over here before I go gray?”
“Yeah, Slowpoke!” echoes Rai Li. She struggles to do a kind of midair crunch. Relenting, Korra lets go of her and airbends her safely back to her feet.
“Working on it,” Mako says from a distance. He kneels, scoops up Kouri and places his arms around his neck, carrying him toward them. “I think this one’s ready for a nap.”
Korra leans down to Rai Li and stage-whispers, “Dad’s lying. He’s just using Kouri as an excuse because he wants to be lazy.”
Rai stifles a giggle behind her hand. Mako’s rolling his eyes, smiling.
Today in my head…
- The steambabies. (That’s the Makorra kiddos, m’friends.) Their daughter’s a firebender and their son, three years younger, is a waterbender. The girl has Korra’s hair and the boy has Mako’s; neither of them have Korra’s complexion, but they both have her eye shape and smile. Korra had the girl when she was 27-ish and her mom skills are as casual as I imagine Toph’s to be, but less… harsh, I’m guessing. (Think Gilmore Girls.) And Mako takes the award for Best Dad In The Fictional Universe because a) he’s already had plenty of experience raising Bo and b) I feel like he has that kind of instinct, y’know?
- Tenzin and Lin grew apart after both of them were crushed by Aang’s death… and now he’s (indirectly) bringing them back together.
- The trick Meelo invents to becom an airbending master is an air wheel - like a hamster wheel, ‘cept you have to run all the way around it. It’s an air loopdeloop, I guess, and he wanted to be different from Jinora and Ikki. Also, he’s a really out-there kid when he’s older, but he’s really awesome.
HEADCANONS ACCEPTED. HEADCANONS. FUCKING. ACCEPTED.
