My wife is a Singer. A great singer. She’s a vocal coach, sometimes piano teacher, and she also teaches vocal theory. She’s also a really good organist, and plays at the, I think, largest Catholic church here in town. The organ is beautiful… (Someday I’ll go in and take some decent pictures of it and post ‘em)
As a result of her fantastic voice and talents, she gets asked to perform at Weddings. This past summer, she was asked to sing at a wedding in St. Ignace. As I have very little to music ability, I asked if I could tag along. It was a gorgeous day June day, the sun was out, and St. Ignace is a nice harbour town, so I figured there would be some stuff to shoot. I took the Rolleicord, and the D90 and a tripod, and set out.
it was a bright day out, so the shooting wasn’t the best. Most of the shots from the film camera were about trying to get a sense of the square negative I was going to get. The square format, to me, doesn’t lend itself to thinking “rule of thirds”, so I wanted to get a handle on it. I had a roll of 400 in the ‘cord, and a handy little light meter. (Sometimes, Value Village is a great place!)
Heres one of the shots: (its unedited)
I was sorta happy with it, and in the high-rez picture, its got some really nice tones, and there was room to edit… The digital stuff was meh. And so, I walked away from them, and forgot.
I was going through my portable hard drive, when I came across this:
Colin, one of my teachers from the course, kind of pushed me towards this graffiti series, (that you can see in my personal work Tab) I resisted for a long time, humming and hawing, when after I started looking at some of my shots, I really started enjoying it.
While this isn’t GRAFFITI, per se, I think it still fits. I love finding stuff like this. Sometimes, you just cant think this stuff up, and people just leave crap lying around! :)
This semester, we’re working with video. vlogs to follow?
Happy Shooting!

We need help!
Hi! We are a group of friends and we are writting a story for entertainment. It takes place in St Ignace, because we loved the town and the landscape but we don’t know many things about St Ignace, so we would be pleased if you send us things and photos of St Ignace.
You can send the information to this tumblr, ask or fanmail :) You also can send this to my friend
Reblog this, please!
