spirit guide update

i just had a wonderful experience in which i encountered my spirit guides during meditation with lapis lazuli.

we’ll begin with Kora. i first received an image of a blue upside-down triangle, the alchemical symbol for water. i interpreted this as her identifying herself with the element of water, which completely fits her as a nurturing and comforting spirit. i then went into a very deep dream-like state in which she presented herself as a blue bird and my clairaudience came into play. she had quite a sense of humor. despite this, my encounter with Kora was overall pretty brief and she doesn’t talk much. she’s on the quieter side.

i was more surprised with my encounter with my Native American spirit guide, who goes by the name of “Chief”. although you might imagine this individual as strict and serious, Chief is actually quite the opposite. he presented himself as a thin, tall, orange flame-like figure, and he acted the part. he brought a fun, wild, easy-going energy and he very easily relates to the element of fire. on the other hand, he has a side that’s protective, inspirational, and passionate. i briefly heard him speak. i don’t remember what it was that he said, but i remember the throaty, baritone tone of his voice.

i expected to get a bit more out of it, but i can’t complain, and i thank them for the enjoyable experience of getting to know them a little better and look forward to more experiences!

Finding your animal guides meditation ~a request

Animal Guide Meditation

Since this is an advanced meditation, you may want to prepare your meditation space in a special way. Add a few ritualistic items, such as lighting a white candle and saying a prayer stating your intent for this meditative session. You may want to decorate your space with several animal statues or books about a variety of animals.
Also if possible you may want to do this meditation outside in the forest.
Once you meet your animal guide, you can remove these generic items and replace them with specific ones of your personal animal spirit.

It’s best to find a piece of music you really like for meditation and stick with it. If you use the same piece each time you meditate, you will pre-program your mind to step into a state of relaxation. Each time you practice, your mind will move into this state with less effort and more quickly, allowing you more time for greater meditative work.

Once you are all set and prepared, this is what you do. Take your time, try to imagine as much detail as possible. And it can’t be stressed enough how important it is not to go into this meditation with pre-conceived ideas about what you would like your guide to be. Keep an open mind and an open heart, and if you are unsuccessful the first time don’t be discouraged this is an advanced lesson.

Sit in a comfortable position, one that you can sustain for about 30-60 minutes.

Close your eyes and take in a deep cleansing breath. Fill your lungs to their fullest capacity. Then release the breath through your mouth and push all the air out of your body. Take in 3 deep breaths through the nose, imagine the white light from the universe coming into your lungs and collecting at your solar plexus.

With all 3 exhales, image all the stress, anxiety and negativity you have leaving your body carried out to the universe on a gay smoke where it can be dissipated and no longer do harm to anyone. As you exhale, imagine the events of the day or week floating out of your body. Put these worries aside and begin to relax your entire body and mind. Feel the tension in your muscles begin to subside. Begin at your solar plexus and imagine the white light moving up and down your body from this point. Imagine the warmth of the energy as it passes through your muscles and organs. Feel the tingling sensations as the light moves down to your toes and up your body to the top of your head. Imagine your entire body engulfed by this white divine light, from the inside out.

Say a prayer once more asking your guides and teachers to come to you and to help with the purpose of this mediation. State your intention clearly and ask the Divine force in your life ie: the Great Spirits, God, Goddess to help you with your meditative journey.

This step takes a little practice, don’t worry if you can’t do this for any extended period of time, but at least give it a try. Keep your eyes closed, but look up at the pituitary gland. (this is also considered to be the position of your third eye and is therefore the gateway to higher conscious realms). Try to keep your eyes focused on this point. The muscles around your eyes may become sore as you stretch them upward, so don’t over do this at first. As you practice, this step will become easier and easier to do.

As you focus on your third eye imagine your at the base of a tunnel, dimly light and slanted upward. Imagine your astral body (or your soul) standing up from your physical body and begin to walk toward and into the tunnel. See the lights on the walls and the texture of the floor as you walk through the tunnel. Imagine yourself moving upward.

Just ahead you see the opening to the tunnel and as you reach the top, you realize you are standing on a ledge high above your town. You feel propelled to raise your arms and step off the cliff. At the very second you leave the cliff, your astral body morphs into a bird and you take flight westward.

Imagine the landscape passing below you, the mountains, rivers, forests and deserts. Imagine your soul flying out over the ocean and seeing the water beneath you. Turn yourself slightly to the north.

As you travel over the water you see in the distance an island. It’s not a terribly big island, but it’s large enough to hold a tall dormant volcano which now has a great water fall spilling into a clear pool at it’s base. Now dip your wings slightly and make your way to the edge of that pool. As you step onto the island under a large shade tree, you instantly morph back into your human soul form. Look around and see the soft carpet of moss under your feet, listen to the crashing soothing sounds of the waterfall, take in a deep breath and smell the fresh flower sweetened air. This is the Island of the Animal Kingdom. Every animal that has ever existed lives on this island or in the pool of water before you.

Now imagine yourself sitting under this tree on the moss, next to the pool of water. Get very comfortable and prepare yourself for another internal meditation on this island. Imagine yourself going into a meditation state. Call your animal guide and ask them to come and make themselves known to you. Imagine yourself getting as relaxed as possible. As soon as your ready, imagine yourself opening your eyes. The first image you see before you is your animal spirit. Either on the land or in the water, the animal will make itself known to you.

The remainder of this meditation is up to the individual. You can ask their name, ask them what lessons you have to learn from them. Ask them what strengths and/or weaknesses they bring to you. Ask them how they can help you combat these weaknesses. And ask them how you can call on their strengths to help you during stressful situations or when ever you need a little extra energy.

When you have concluded your visit, make sure you thank them deeply for their gift of service and protection to you. Thank them for coming here during this meditation to meet you and/or visit with you. Give them a goodbye hug if you wish. Then imagine yourself lifting your arms and morphing back into the bird spirit. Fly back over the ocean, over the deserts and forests and rivers. Back to the edge of the tunnel. As soon as you step down on the tunnel you morph back into your human self again.

Imagine yourself walking back into the tunnel and heading back down to your meditative space. Imagine your soul walking through the door to your room, and seeing your physical body right where you left it. As your soul steps back inside your spiritual body, all the visions sensations and answers you received merge with your physical brain and are automatically stored into your conscious mind.

Make sure you thank your guides and deities for their help.

Take in a deep breath, begin to feel your body, become more and more aware of your surroundings, have a nice long and hard stretch, then open your eyes.

Remember: The last thing you should do before you get up from your meditative spot is to record this event in a journal. It’s important to do it right away while the images, feelings and sounds are still clear in your mind.

Spirit Guides and more

WHAT ARE SPIRIT GUIDES?

  • They are souls who who have chosen after a number of incarnations to remain in spirit in order to assist a person in the physical realm.
  • This may be someone who they were devoted to in a previous life.
  • They may stay with you through you entire life time or for a short period.
  • Each guide enters your life for a specific purpose.
  • We usually enter an agreement with at least one main guide before we enter our physical bodies.
  • You may have previously been the guide for you spirit guide when they were in the physical realm.
  • You may have also shared a love link i.e., brother, sister, mother
  • Spirit guides have not always had incarnations on earth they may come from other dimensions or planets.
  • They are souls who are at a similar stage in their spiritual evolution.

DOES EVERYONE HAVE A SPIRIT GUIDE?

Yes and we all have the ability to communicate with them.Everyone will have at least one primary one who may stay for an entire life time.Others may come and go when their specific purpose is complete. You can call on others as you feel you need them. You may have a deceased loved one acting as a guideThey may have their own learning to complete in spirit and therefore may feel removed from you at times. This is just a time when they are out exploring other dimension. They will still hear you if you call them.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A SPIRIT GUIDE?

Finding your spirit guide can have many benefits as they are here for you and your development. Their purposes include:

  • Their primary purpose is one of guiding and teaching.
  • A spirit guide can often see a picture bigger than ourselves therefore their guidance is extremely valuable.
  • They are here to assist us with the issues that we have set up for ourselves in this life time.
  • They can help you heal and awaken to your full potential.
  • They can help you find your sense of purpose.

HOW DO SPIRIT GUIDES CONNECT WITH US?

Meeting Spirit guides can take many forms. Spirit guides come to us when we are most receptive or willing to receive their help. They are gentle and give only the information we are ready for.

Spirit guides connect with us in many ways including:

  • Dreams .
  • Through thoughts or telepathy also known as clairaudience.
  • During meditation or altered states of consciousness.
  • Syncronicities.
  • Through feelings.
  • You can also ask for your guide to initiate communication with you in a particular way so that you will recognize them for example ‘give me a tingling sensation if you are there?’
  • Contact can also be made through a medium using the form of psychic art.

HOW CAN I RECOGNISE THE PRESENCE OF MY SPIRIT GUIDE?

When meeting spirit guide it can present itself in the following ways:

  • You may hear sounds that have no physical source.
  • You may see flashes of light or shadows out of the corner of your eyes but when you turn to look nothing is there.
  • You may get the shivers or goose pimples.
  • You may experience syncronicities.
  • You may say something and wonder where it came from as it did not sound like you.
  • You may feel warm, calm, safe and supported.
  • During the meditation to follow you may be given a symbol or certain sensation that will be the key to recognizing your guide.

HOW TO CONTACT YOUR SPIRIT GUIDE?

Meeting your spirit guide is a form of channeling. Are you asking “Who is my spirit guide?” In truth you already know your spirit guide so this will be more like a reunion or the first conscious connection made here on earth. A common way to contact your spirit guide is though mediation although it can be done through many other ways this will be a good place to start.

Contacting Spirit Guide

It would be handy to have paper and a pen perhaps even coloured pencil in case you want to record your expereince.

  1. Find a quite place to sit where you will not be disturbed.
  2. Light a candle with the intention of being protected as you take this journey
  3. Close your eyes and turn inward.
  4. Spend a few minutes quietening your mind by focusing on the breathe.
  5. Invite your spirit guide to communicate with you by saying mentally or aloud ‘through this meditaion i wish to connect to you please make your pressence known to me’.(Notice anything that happens you may receive a warm senstion or tingling)
  6. Visualise a door in your mind.
  7. You approach the door and open it.
  8. A beautiful garden is revealed.
  9. You enter the garden walking a long a path towards a pond.
  10. Enjoy the sensations as you are walking.
  11. You notice a glowing light next to the ponds edge.
  12. You know that your spirit guide has come to greet you as you asked.
  13. Approaching closer you may notice the appearance of your guide or not.
  14. Your guide extends their arm out to give you something.A gift- A reminder of your encounter .The gift will be unique to you. (Perhaps you are shown a flower that you love.Perhaps you smell the flower you love. There are no rules to how you experience this.Every sensation you have is valuable.)
  15. Spend sometime getting to know your guide or just being in their pressence and return through the garden gate when you are ready.
  16. Feel the ground beneath your feet as you return.

To develop your relationship further as with all relationships you need to give it constant care and nurturing. Learning to still your mind through meditation will further aid your ability to communicate. Make the time to ask for guidance this will give them the opportunity to assist you.

Exercise: Meet One of Your Angels or Spirit Guides

Requirements:
A quiet place where you can sit or lie comfortably
Pen or pencil
Notebook or journal

Time required: 10–20 minutes First, sit or lie down somewhere you can be comfortable, take the phone off the hook, put the “Do Not Disturb” sign out, anything you need to ensure you won’t be interrupted. It is probably best not to do this in bed because the object of this exercise is not to fall asleep, nor is it necessarily to relax—you want to be calm and focused and ready to connect.
Spend a couple of minutes [activating your channel], so that you know your Channel is open and strong. Remember, your Channel is your antenna for your Divine Guidance, so the more exercise you give it, the better it will work for you.
Have your pen and notebook within reach.
Now close your eyes and take a moment to consider your intention, the reason you are doing this exercise—to meet one of your Spirit Guides or Angels.
Imagine yourself traveling up into the sky. Floating or flying, you leave your room behind and fly up through the sky, going higher and higher. Imagine the clouds as you pass them by. You feel happy, free, and full of excited anticipation.
Imagine your Channel to be like a kind of guide rope that guides you on your journey up into space while still keeping you safely connected to Earth.
Soon you notice you’ve risen so far that you begin to leave the Earth’s atmosphere and are moving out into space.
Picture yourself going past our beautiful moon and out past the planets in our solar system such as Venus, Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto. Make your journey as colourful and interesting as you like, there is no need to rush. Stop and study the awesome and colourful rings of Saturn, or marvel at the comets and asteroids as they glide on by. Note: If you want to be really thorough you can take the time to look at an atlas of astronomy or the internet to familiarise yourself with the celestial geography before you head off, so you can picture where you are going with greater ease.
Continue to travel upward into the Cosmos, holding your clear intention in your mind that you are on a journey to meet one of your Angels or Spirit Guides. Soon you will leave our solar system and find yourself in the vastness of space, where you will continue to travel for a minute or two longer, enjoying the incredible peace of the Universe and the brilliance of the stars.
When you feel ready, allow yourself to come to a stop and to simply float or hover in space with stars and planets moving slowly around you.
Pause for a moment and let yourself feel the security of the guideline and anchor your Channel provides for you.
Now that you have become a little bit accustomed to just “hanging out” in space, look straight ahead into the distance and imagine a small but very bright point of light. Let this light come closer and closer to you. It travels with great speed and accuracy, becoming larger all the while.
Eventually it is right there before you, only a few feet away, and so very bright that you may feel the urge to shield your eyes. Remind yourself that you are here to meet a Spirit Guide or Angel, a meeting that, one way or another, you have been looking forward to all your life. You will soon notice that the intensity of this mass of light begins to soften a little so that you are able to look directly at it.
As you watch, a form will begin to reveal itself to you; there is nothing you have to do other than just observe. Just relax and allow your Angel or Spirit Guide to come to you. Be receptive and welcoming, and notice whatever shows up.
You may get a sense of whether it is male or female, or notice part or all of his or her appearance, and so on. In your mind’s eye let the image of your Angel or Spirit Guide be shown to you and keep asking for more information. It is perfectly acceptable to ask as many questions as you like, especially if you are not very visual at this time.
Ask your guide what colour its eyes are, what it’s wearing, its name, or whether it is an Angel or a Spirit Guide. Even if you can’t see this being, you will feel it. Its energy feels warm and wonderful, so you may want to reach out to hold hands or give and receive a hug.
Keep examining your Spirit Guide or Angel until you’ve gathered all the information about them you can at this time. Trust what you sense and let the impressions flow freely—your friend can have any name and any kind of appearance. Not all Angels have flowing robes and golden wings and Spirit Guides appear in a truly limitless variety.
When you feel you’ve spent enough time with your friend, you can then make your journey back to Earth—this time with your Spirit Guide or Angel by your side.
Using your Channel as a guiding line again, travel back down along it through the stars, into our solar system, and back into the Earth’s atmosphere. Picture yourself descending gently and gracefully with your Spirit Guide or Angel by your side and going directly back to where ever you began your journey.
Make your journey back logical and sequential, coming back the same way you went out, then returning to the country, city, town, suburb, street, home or building, and then finally the room you set out from. Affirm to yourself the present place and time; for example, your street address and the date. Breathe deeply, wriggle your fingers and toes, feel the weight of your body in the chair, and open your eyes. You are back where you started and your Angel or Spirit Guide is now beside you.
Before you do anything else, take your pen and notebook and write down every little detail you can remember, including a name if you received one. It really helps to make a note of these things when you are in the early stages of this work because it is all too easy to leap back into your busy day and forget half of what you experienced. This whole process need only take a few minutes if that is what you want, but if you can spare the time it is worthwhile giving yourself around half an hour so you can savour and enjoy it. If at any time during the process you feel you’ve drifted off, just pick up where you left off. There is no right or wrong way to do this, so you may add your own variations if you like. Some people like to imagine that they are walking into a beautiful forest, stopping in a clearing or a grove to meet their new friend. If you have a favourite place or setting you would prefer to use, then by all means do so. No one method is better than the other; what is most important is that it works for you. Normally, you will meet just one Angel or Spirit Guide each time you make this trip, but it’s possible to be greeted by two or more. There are no rules, so be open to surprises and trust yourself and what you are being shown. Keep asking the ones you connect with for the names they go by; I find it is much easier for people to relate to an Angel or Spirit Guide if they have a name to address them by. There don’t seem to be any names that are typical; in my ten years of practice I have come across Spirit Guides and Angels with names ranging from the very ordinary, like Bob and Jane, to the unusual, like Wohan and Erethelia.

Once you have made contact there is no need to repeat that process again for the same Angel or Spirit Guide, but do repeat it whenever you would like to meet other members of your clan. If you are going through a difficult time, or want help with something specific, you can ask to meet the being who can most particularly help you with that problem. You may then be guided to a new one or be shown which of your known Angels or Spirit Guides can help you.

Evening Hymns - Lanterns

Evening Hymns are sung from the cathedrals of talls trees. They capture the spirit of moments, of friends around a bonfire on a foggy beach, the crunching of snowshoes in the silence of a winter night and memories of tribal boys growing up with pellet guns, fishing and handmade forts.

Evening Hymns- Lanterns

Meditating again this morning

I am looking for clarity and confirmation.  I am excited.  Honestly.

If someone who knows (more than me) about spirit guides and such, and would want to discuss something about mine with me, privately, please write an ask to me?

Universal love tips from spirit guides

Spirit guides assist and encourage us.  They hold nothing but the highest of intentions for us; yet, they are not here to take responsibility for us, to learn our life lessons for us, nor to give us all the answers we may wish we had.  They love us enough to allow us our own free will and the right to make our own mistakes.

As humans, we can learn how to deepen our innate ability to support and love by observing the silent love of our guides.  Learn to love while simultaneously letting go.  Understand that this “letting go” is not a lack of love, but, rather, it is a mature love and a respect to give others room to move along their own personal journey.  Their journey is not right or wrong, it just is.  As you give others room for transformation, you also give yourself room to grow.  Be the light, and in the end you guide others by saving yourself.

Remember, others are only mirrors…

Spiritual guides

I’ve accumulated several spirits, as I mentioned in my past entry, and it’s wild how everything is connected. I’ve been making a lot of connections with them to Celtic lore, especially Maive and the deer person thing that I have recently identified as Cernunnos. I don’t picture  them as deities, as most religions do or what not, but more like higher beings that are here to help people. I don’t like associating the word god with anything. For me, it has a lot of negative energy around it, like someone is constantly watching over your shoulder to make sure you don’t mess up in life. I don’t like that! I like having higher spirits that I’m in tune with walk by my side in life and look out for me, for better and for worse.

Maive, according to one of my weekend teachers, is a warrior spirit. She’s here to remind me of who I am and to not give up on myself. She’s a strong spirit and is always smiling and seems to enjoy giving me hugs whenever I meditate. According to Celtic lore, the warrior spirit definitely fits her. She’s a strong soul and does her own thing, though depending on where you check, it is mentioned to be wary of Maive, for she is a tricky one. I don’t view her as evil, but she’s definitely mischievous. I like that about her.

And then there’s the deer person, now known as Cernunnos. I originally found him through my power animal, the snake, and I couldn’t figure out who he was (or even what gender he was originally). After seeing him, that whole week I kept seeing deer. It was really wild. Celtic lore paints Cernunnos as this fatherly figure and in tuned with nature. There are many pictures of him in association with a stag and a horned serpent. I find it really eerie that he is always with my power animal. I’m not sure why he’s sticking around me, but he’s been very loving and kind, especially when I’m down and out.

Then there are the angels. I only have two that I know of right now: Michael and Zadkiel. Michael seems to answer me right away, especially when I need it. He’s the angel of courage and protection and appears to me in a long, dark attire. I can’t make out if he’s holding a staff or something, but there’s a lot of black. He’s easy to miss in my meditations, but if I can’t see anything, I definitely feel him, especially at the end of my yoga classes.

Zadkiel has been a new one for me. Lately, before I go drive in my car, especially for long periods of time, I ask for someone to watch over me. I’ve been extremely anxious driving at night and at least once a week for the past month or so, whenever I drive at night, I see the flash of blue light. Keep in mind, there are no other cars on the road and there’s nothing around that could make this light. After looking through my angel book, which says most angels come in the form of unexplained lights, I figured out it was Zadkiel, an angel for memory and mental healing. Further reading has unveiled that he’s also an angel of forgiveness and helps people heal from painful experiences in order to forgive others or even themselves. Definitely the angel I need with me. And just the other night at yoga during our final relaxation, he came to me, wearing robes the same color of that blue flash and just smiled at me. I think I weirded my teacher out when I started crying at the end of class, but I was so happy. Still am!

Lastly, there are two little elemental spirits floating around. They’re tiny and I’ve just discovered them recently: a water elemental and an earth elemental. When I was younger, I used to see elementals all the time when I meditated. They’re like the busy bees of nature, I swear! They’re everywhere and are very willing to help, especially if you have good intentions. I used to have several fire elementals back in high school, but then I feel out of my practice and lost touch. I wish I could write more on these new elementals, but I honestly don’t know why they’re around, seeing they just came to me this week. I like to think they will stick around and will eventually tell me their names. All I do know is that in ayurveda, the dosha I lack the most in is kapha and is composed of water and earth.
