Kuroko isn’t quite sure what to think when he finds the ring box in Aomine’s pants pocket while doing the laundry. The ring is a plain loop of gold, and it fits just nice when he slides it onto his finger.
He stares at it for a while, contemplative, and definitely not admiring the way it looks on his hand. It can only mean one thing—Aomine has finally sacked up and decided to ask him to tie the knot. It’s sweet, really, when you think about it. On the other hand, it’s just like Aomine-kun to forget the ring in his pants pocket, for chrissakes. In the laundry hamper. He can’t let that opportunity go to waste.
So he does the only thing Kuroko Tetsuya would do:
He hides it.
Two hours later, Aomine is visibly shaken; he taps his feet and his eyes rove around the room like a madman’s. Kuroko, meanwhile, sits calmly on the couch, reading glasses perched on his nose, flipping through the newspaper.
“Something the matter?” he asks.
Aomine shrugs. Then he spasms. The spasm looks a lot like him shoving his hands in his pockets, maybe patting himself down.
Kuroko just blinks at him angelically.
