Stevie NicksSound City - “You Can’t Fix This” [featuring Stevie Nicks]
The reviews for the Sound City documentary’s soundtrack—Sound City: Real to Reel—have been pretty spotty so far, but in general, I’ve found it pretty engaging. Most of the songs are pretty decent—I mean, all of the musicians on here are obviously talented, legendarily so even.
“You Can’t Fix This” is one of my favorite cuts from it, and by far the track I was most excited to hear about. Stevie Nicks is, of course, a longtime favorite of mine, and I thought the idea of a collaboration between her and Dave Grohl was an interesting idea. The song ends up sounding a lot like Stevie’s songs from Fleetwood Mac’s 2003 album, Say You Will, rather than her 2011 solo record, In Your Dreams, much to my relief (I love Say You Will and I didn’t end up liking In Your Dreams much at all).
