I don’t normally watch DW but I did at Xmas and I thought it made sense. She used Pond because she thought he would take her more seriously because she recognised there was something wrong with the pond at the house. or thats how I interpreted it! X
I think she choose Pond because of the pond in which the former governess died in. That’s just my opinion.
Yeah, I thought that too, I get that she used the word ‘pond’ because that’s where the problem was happening but… that’s like saying ‘tree’ or ‘fountain’ or something? What if the governess had fallen into a lake? Would she say ‘lake’? How would that spur him to take action after promising to himself that he wouldn’t get involved in the Earth’s matters?

If he did then I get it, but then, Clara doesn’t know that Amy “died”, so how would she have known it would be impactful/important? Idk but thank you for clearing it up, or at least part of it, anyway! :D
I absolutely hated that part. I don’t want constant Pond reminders because otherwise we’re going to end up with Clara being under appreciated for not being Amy in the same way Martha was for not being Rose.
Yeah, I agree. Tbh I liked the Doctor being all dark and miserable after the loss of Amy, but that sort of thing can be done without the constant Pond mentions. I totally agree with you though because Martha was treated horribly and I really don’t want Eleven to do the same thing as Ten. Plus I’m scared if Moffat keeps doing it then I’ll get sick of Amy like I got sick of Rose and I don’t want that to happen at all.
