si.mahidol.ac.thWe visited Siriraj Medical Museum in our last week in Bangkok. The museum is housed in the Siriraj Hospital Complex and comprises six museums featuring exhibits on everything related to humans and diseases. An odd tourist attraction but fascinating nonetheless. The admission ticket doubles as a souvenir passport to the various museums and you can stamp a postmark for each of the sections you visit. The stamps are located behind the admissions desk and next to the small snack/coffee station they have set up.
The link or this website can tell you more about the museum but I was mesmerized by their Tsunami Exhibit. I learned a lot about the Boxing Day Tsunami of 2004 and how people died, the horrific injuries of the survivors and the nonstop work of the medical professionals from all over Thailand to aid the victims. It was sobering to see all that death.
And then two days later, the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan …
