“Shaytaan is very smart. He won’t get you to do a big sin in one shot. He’ll tempt you to do a small sin, then a small sin and then a small sin, until he destroys your imaan!”

SpongeBob Squarepants And The 7 Deadly Sins

Each of the main characters in SpongeBob Squarepants was inspired by the seven deadly sins. This was revealed in an audio commentary by the creators on a season one DVD.

Greed (Mr.Krabs) – This is probably the most obvious, the show continuously shows how greedy Mr. Krabs is. He would do anything for money.

Sloth (Patrick) - Patrick represents this sin because he sleeps under a rock all day for crying out loud. He has no job and in one of the episodes, he was even awarded for how lazy he was.

Envy (Plankton) – The show consistently reveals plankton trying to steal the secret formula from Mr. Krabs. However, he fails miserably every single time.

Wrath (Squid ward) - Squid ward is angry most of the time. He hates his life, job and most of all, he hates SpongeBob. In every episode, whatever SpongeBob does, it would annoy the hell out of him.

Gluttony (Gary) - Whenever Gary is involved in an episode, it would always involve SpongeBob feeding him or forgetting to feed him. There was an episode where Gary ran away from home because SpongeBob forgot to fed him.

Pride (Sandy) – Sandy is not afraid to show off her athleticism in a karate competition or even in a weightlifting contest.  She is proud that she is a Mammal living under water despite not being able to breathe normally like the other sea creatures. There was an episode where she tried to prove land mammals were better than sea creatures.

Lust (SpongeBob) – One trait that SpongeBob doesn’t have is ‘’hatred.’’ He loves everyone and everything. He has a great passion that makes up his whole persona.

Perhaps the biggest effect of sin, is the part of you that begins to care less.
