Sigma Sigma Sigma
I am a sorority girl.
I am currently wearing the letters Sigma Sigma Sigma. This is not because I like to party. This is not because I couldn’t make friends so an org was my only option. I had friends before sigma, but I didn’t have sisters.
What people don’t understand about a sorority is something that you can never quite explain. It is knowing that people will love you no matter what. It is people loving you no matter how strange you are and for who you are. Someone picked you because they saw something that they couldn’t forget, something that they loved. It is sisters that can make you laugh at any hour of day or night. It is people to eat with, smile with, sit with, laugh with, cry with, and knowing that you are always thought about.
It is love.
It is having a big sister that would do anything for you. Friends that wake up at 3:00 in the morning. It is the above and beyond.
Learning that the best memories come from helping someone else.
The just because presents.
The people that you know better than people you may have known most of your life. It is a family. I am so grateful to have come away from my negative stereotype of drunk, slutty sorority girls to my new one. I see a girl in letters and I respect her. I know now that those letters come with a responsibility to uphold standards, to be a true friend, and to try to represent your org as best as possible.
I am a proud sister of sigma sigma sigma.
