Race: Epic?

Probably not. But I was already reluctant to even go out. It’s raining, cold, windy and if that wasn’t enough already…I have had a sore throat for the past few days. Which I don’t want to become a full blown sickness less than two weeks before the marathon.

Not the best, nor the longest run. But a run, nonetheless. I would say it was Epic that I went out at all.

Now for a warm shower, followed by warm clothes and maybe a nice movie?

Weekend Happenings...

Friday…

Nada

Saturday…  I knew I wasn’t running with the group, so when I got to swim practice a little late, I bailed and went home…THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!

Then I watched Adam do the urbanathlon…in the rain and sleet…

Then we had breakfast and I left my wallet aka plastic bag filled with ID at the diner.  The manager thought it was a great idea to let the patron take it and mail it to me.  I don’t doubt that I’ll get it, but I have no words for the chain of events…just none.  Really???  Don’t keep it at the diner???  Please disregard my ungratefulness.

Then we celebrated Halloween:

and some more…

Sunday:

Short run to try out my new kicks.  Then brunch, then Adopt a mat stenciling…

Run! June 6, 2012

Didn’t realize until I started this run that I haven’t eaten all day. That NEVER happens. Need to get on track quickly.

Run:

  • Distance: 1.51 miles
  • Time: 17:30
  • Pace: 11:35 min/mile

I’m sure this would have been faster had I stuffed my face today. Tomorrow will be better. I’m in a good place, though, to start working on my goal…at least I think so. LRG will tell me for sure!

Gonna go stuff my face. Will push WOD to tomorrow, along with 1 mile run!

Btw…thanks for the comments on the previous post. It’s something I need to work through, but they are definitely appreciated. <3

1.5 Miler

On Tuesdays I have photography class, which means I go into work at 9 instead of 8. My alarm is still set for 6, however, and I used the extra hour to take Roxy on a jog. She (and I) didn’t make it very far very fast, but we didn’t stop to walk (at least I didn’t).

I had forgotten how nice it is to get out there before the sun is up, with the street wet and shiny, houses dark and seemingly empty, doorways yawning open on either side. Even though I was hacking through the run (I cannot shake this cough), I was very pleased with myself for getting out there. I need to build a solid base of mileage again so that I can start increasing without injury.

So here’s to the one mile in the bank so far this week.
