Singapore Fashion Month
I officially declare May as Singapore’s Fashion Month. With so many upcoming events, its practically the whole month! Audi Fashion Festival (AFF) has sorta started with their live model casting at ION last week.
I have just received the top 4 models names who were selected by judges Singaporean model Sheila Sim, celebrity stylist Jeremy Tan, Elle Singapore’s editor-in-chief Sharon Lim and Audi Fashion Festival show producer Jeremy Tan. They are Vivian Ong (Singapore), Wang Qian Qian (China), Nastya Karzan (Russia) and Florentina Stoian (Romania) and Marina Nikitenkova from Ukraine. The 4 are the official festival faces of the Audi Fashion Festival while Marina Nikitenkova was named this year’s Elle’s Choice who will appear in a 6-page fashion spread.

Up close and personal with Bryanboy at MFW 2011

I managed to get not only one but two photos with Bryanboy at the Men’s Fashion Week event last week. I didn’t expect to even see him at all but we were standing near the entrance waiting for Hugo Boss show to start and there he appeared out of nowhere.
Chris from WOM PR was escorting him in while carrying Bryan’s Chanel 2.55 bag. Chris was nice to let us have the photo op with Bryanboy. Yay! E! was interviewing him while we waited impatiently obviously excited to finally meet him in person. And even more awesome we sat couple rows right behind him during most of the shows.
I also had the chance to chat with Bryan after the shows, it was fun chatting with him and his friends, one of them, Jerome Lorico, was the designer who showcased at MFW. Bryan was reaaaaallly nice and loud and very chatty, he talks really fast.
When asked about Singapore fashion, he said, “People live and breathe fashion. They buy it, they wear it and they support it. Well, to me its Singapore’s national sport; shopping!”
He likes it how Singaporeans mix and match high with the lows and not buy everything expensive. He also loves to shop at “Boocheese”, that’s Bugis for you. That was hilarious but its cool that he shops and knows places like these here.
I can’t wait for another amazing event in 6 months time. Because its Women’s Fashion Week and local supermodel Sheila Sim will be the new face. Who knows maybe Rumi Neely will be invited to the event. That will be just awesome.

Another excerpt from Ava Gardner "Love Is Nothing"
[Speaking of Ava Gardner] “As an actress she was rather nervous,” Sheila Sim recalled. “She did not have great faith in her talent, actually. And I think she was a much better actress than she was given credit for, but I think she had a problem in that her beauty was so distracting to people you couldn’t concentrate on her performance. I have never known anyone so beautiful. A totally beautiful, perfect figure and face, whatever she was doing, or whatever clothes she was wearing, totally, absolutely lovely. And she moved so beautifully, had an instinctive gracefulness, fascinating to watch. She was very talented in many ways.”

Audi Fashion Festival - Antonio Berardi + Backstage
More photos of Antonio Berardi A/W Collection. Lotsa lace and cocktail dresses plus well tailored coats and jackets. Oversized lapels are so gorgeous! My favourite is the last number with the studded jacket and skirt. Studs will never leave my wardrobe!
