Enough with the giant phones!
All these huge new phones are giving me a bad case of “smartphone thumb.”
The screen on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a stunning 4.65 inches across the diagonal, compared to 3.5 inches for the iPhone (see above). Though more is often better, there has got to be a limit, right? My thumb could hardly make it across the screen, and reaching for things on the top or bottom required two hands or some seriously stretched thumbs.
Sure, no one is going to confuse me for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I can’t palm a basketball, and I can almost fit my wife’s wedding ring on my finger. I have small hands, I get it.
But unless you’re Shaq, can you really use some of these new phones with just one hand?
The Nokia Lumia 900 was just revealed as the U.S. version of the phenomenal Nokia Lumia 800. The difference? Obviously, the 900 has a 4.3-inch screen, and the 800 has a 3.7-inch screen. I’ve got to move to Europe.
Maybe some people don’t mind using two hands for a smartphone, but those people have obviously never stood up for an hour-long commute on the New York subway while trying to read Peter King’s marathon Monday Morning Quarterback column. Let’s save two hands for tablets and keep smartphone screens a reasonable size. -David
Someone made Shaq-Fu worth playing

There are some who will argue that Shaq-Fu, the fighting game starring the gigantic former NBA star, isn’t terrible, but its reputation is probably enough to keep most people from giving this supposed kusoge a spin.
ArugulaZ has released a patch for the SNES version, though, that replaces its corny text. “Here’s your chance to play the game with a script that spends less time kissing Shaq’s butt and more time being entertaining,” he says.
Everything Shaq touches off the court seems to be garbage: his rap career, his performance as Steel, and now his awful commentary on TNT. It’s great to see something fun made out of yet another Shaq blunders with this patch.
