January health investment - Review!
I’ve now been having Shakeology shakes for a full month. I transitioned from drinking one for lunch to breakfast because I get really hungry around midday and it wasn’t cutting it for me.
That said, it’s a great freaking breakfast, and it keeps me full long into those hungry hours. I’ve lost about six pounds in the past month and kept it off with minimal effort/pain/crying. My stomach problems, incidentally, have been significantly reduced. I’ve tried both the chocolate and greenberry flavors and they’re both tasty. I actually think I prefer the greenberry, which seems foreign to me - but I’ve started making the shakes with kefir and I think that enhances the flavor of the greenberry somehow.
Plus, I get the added benefit of Maddie as my coach, and she’s been wonderful. She’s made me meal plans, she’s been a HUGE source of support and encouragement, and she’s constantly there to answer my inane questions.
* And for those of you who scoffed at the price - a bag for a month is $120, which comes out to about $4 a serving. A smoothie at my local Smoothie King is $7. A Starbucks latte is $5. I’ll gladly pay four bucks a smoothie for these kind of results.
I’m gonna stick with Shakeology until I’m at my goal weight, which is about 14 more pounds from here. I can do that. I’m SO glad I tried this - I am not patient enough to make my own green smoothies, and I refuse to buy a juicer until I have a larger kitchen (one can only have so many kitchen appliances in an apartment), so this is a wonderful way to get the same health benefits with far reduced effort.
Maddie is still doing a promo where she’ll raffle off a Fitbit if she gets ten orders in January, so if you want to check it out, now is the time! (She’s not paying me to say these nice things. I just mean them all.)
February’s health investment is Bikram yoga, which I tried for the first time last night. DEAR GOD. Review to come.
okay here’s the deal. I think shakeology is great for helping you to lose weight or if you need help mustering up the energy to get yourself to the gym. I stopped drinking it a while back but I drank it for almost a year as my breakfast every morning. It helped me lose almost 20 pounds and I have since kept the weight off (almost 2 years now). I fully back the product and think its great to help lose unwanted pounds and essentially “reset” your body to crave nutrient rich, quality food.
It gives you a nice, calming energy that just makes you want to go to the gym and run miles! Which is great for motivating you to get your butt to the gym! It also helps calm cravings. I used to struggle a lot with sugar cravings but they were almost non-existent when I was drinking Shakeology every morning.
Those of you that have followed me for a while now know that I believe in whole, real, organic food and Shakeology is probably the best protein shake I’ve seen. It’s full of antioxidant rich fruits and veggies, stress relieving adaptgens, and probiotics.
If you want to try it I recommend the vegan chocolate flavor and you can get it here: Shakeology.com/courtneyswan
I know it’s expensive up front, but if you drink it as meal every day, say, for breakfast, it comes out to about $4/meal. I’m sure that’s less than what you pay now for any meal. It also fills you up and keeps you full for hours. If you order it decide you don’t like it you can always return it for a full refund too. (Make sure you order it on autoship—free shipping—saves you $20! And you can always cancel it later).
