FIFA full of sexists, Pope still into Jesus and hats
ft.comThe Independent Governance Committee, set up by Fifa president Sepp Blatter to combat accusations of inertia over dealing with investigating corruption allegations, recommended the reform and nominated four women for the eight seats on the investigatory and adjudicatory chambers.
But Alexandra Wrage, an IGC member, said she was told at the lunch the nomination of any female candidates was “entirely unacceptable”.
Ms Wrage told the Financial Times: “They sat down next to me, two senior Fifa executives. They said, ‘you are pushing too hard, leave this for another time. You’ve made a lot of progress, you should be content.’ It was so clear-cut, it was expressly stated.”

if you can come up with a logical argument that does not contain a logical fallacy as to why girls cannot be passionate football fans and you can argue it without sending death threats, insults, or anything offending or inappropriate, then by all means, send me an ask, and if it is reasonable and logical then i will accept that as your opinion and my opinion as mine and we shall go our separate ways.
if you can’t then please go away. thanks.
Sexism in football and my experiences.
“You like football? But you’re a girl.” This is something that I hear a lot, and many other female football fans experience. It seems almost like a shock; girls liking football? But isn’t football a men’s sport? Perhaps the shock comes from girls liking any sport at all that isn’t netball or something classified as equally as ‘girly’.
i saw a guy tweeting about how hot mario gomez was. i reckon he was 100% serious about it too. how did people respond? no abuse. in fact other people joined in on it, agreeing with him about how hot mario gomez was.
but when i do that, i get death threats and hate messages telling me to “go back to the kitchen,” and that i’m “not a true football fan” and i should go “like some shitty sport like netball.” yes. that is totally fair. totally no double standard there. nope. not at all.
Do You Get Rape-y Comments Too?: On Sexism & Sports Media
fromaleftwing.blogspot.comAs a fan, a player, as a ref or an administrator we are bombarded with statements that are so outrageously sexist they wouldn’t be tolerated in any other sphere. How many times have we heard “nobody really likes women’s football” or “women can’t play in goal”? These are “polite” versions of the Grey and Keys routine leaked by Sky Sports staff. People take the abjection of women’s sports as such a given that the declaration that “women’s football is boring” is totally uncontroversial - though when you stop and think about it, that statement actually does as much to replicate sexist structures of thought and power as the remarks about “smashing it.”
