“The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different Christian. The fact that I am a Christian makes me a different woman.”

—Elisabeth Elliot

“Among today’s love-hungry women, a man typically doesn’t have to work very hard to win a woman’s heart and attention. In fact, often all he needs to do is flirt for a couple of minutes, and the next thing he knows she’s completely given her heart, emotions, and even her body to him. Just like settling for less than a Christ-built man, throwing ourselves at guys cheapens the amazing work that Christ has done for us. He gave up His very life to make us into His radiant princess. Why would we take such a gift lightly by throwing our feminine heart to anything male that moves? Our heart, emotions, innocence and physical purity are treasures from Heaven. These treasures are only to be entrusted to one man (our future spouse), and only after he proves he is truly worthy of such a gift.”

What a real man wants, and what real women should be

“He does not want a girl who trifles with Christianity. He wants a woman who is radically given to Christ. He does not want a girl who prays tepid, lukewarm prayers. He wants a woman who lives in defiance of the powers of Hell. He does not want a girl who is self-adorning with the latest fashions and trends. He wants a woman who is adorned with the inner jewelry of Christ-given holiness. He does not want a girl who dishonors and belittles her parents. He wants a woman who honors the authorities God has placed in her life and serves them with charity and gladness. He does not want a girl whose Bible is an accessory to her wardrobe. He wants a woman whose hunger and thirst is to know the Lord, and who diligently feasts upon His Word. He does not want a girl whose tongue is a deceptive weapon of selfishness. He wants a woman whose words drip with the honey of the name of Jesus.”

“While the world pines after short-term pleasure, I am learning to bask in an entirely different kind of pleasure - the eternal delights of my Savior.”

—Leslie Ludy - Set Apart Girl magazine

I want God to write my love story.

Whatever He wants and knows is best for me in the future, I will obey as His servant and daughter.

Whether He wants a life of celibacy, or a life with a family - I know it is all in His hands. And His hands are the best place for it to be.

THERE'S THIS GUY

1. Give it to God

“The best thing you can do when you feel attracted to a guy is to immediately give your feelings to God. “Lord, thank you for the qualities I see in this guy. Please take my emotions and guard them. Enable me to keep my heart protected for my future husband. If it is Your desire that I enter a relationship with this guy, then I leave the details in Your hands. May I not manipulate or grow impatient, but allow You to remain in complete control. You will be faithful. You care more about this area of my life than even I do. The guy you are attracted to might seem like the only Warrior-Poet in existence, and you might not be able to imagine living life without him. But the reality is that if he is not the one God wants you to marry, then the guy He has chosen for you will fit your life even more perfectly, and what you esteem in him will be even more than what you see in this guy. Don’t allow your emotions to lead the way— take a step back and surrendor them afresh to your loving Father. When your heart is fully yielded to Christ, you will be far more able to discern between His voice and the voice of your desires.”
