Semi Permanent
The main purpose of my visit in Sydney is to attend the international creative conference, Semi Permanent. In the past years, they’ve been in 5 countries, featured heaps of artists/designers I look up to.
This year I was super lucky to be sponsored by Dottystyle- the company I have been working for more than two years now- to attend the conference. They sent me to Sydney to experience the lifestyle as well, so I can understand more the culture of our clients.

Semi Permanent Day 1 highlights for me was the first speaker, Paperform. He creates artworks using paper, mostly popups. He’s been commissioned by Hermes and Kylie Minogue where he did an amazing popup book.

Kelli Anderson, she is just bursting with creativity, amazing ideas.

Google Hangout with Roman Coppola, Fun fun fun! Saw Francis Ford Coppola (Director, The Godfather) as well!

Derek Henderson from New Zeland. Amazing photographer who uses only natural lighting on his photos.
Day 2 highlights were Luca Ionescu. His attention to details in his typography is admirable.

Florian Schmitt of High-res digital studio and Vince Frost. New York based photographer David Alan Harvey, with National Geographic. His photos are extra ordinary, those that tells stories.

And G-Munk.

The exposure I had with SemiPermanent has inspired me more to do best. I enjoyed the talks and learned a lot hearing from their experiences. It is also good to have other creative outlets and collaboration with other designers.
And finally, another highlight were seeing my submitted artwork published in their book.

Natural Hair & Permanent Color

By: Eden H
I’m THE QUEEN of coloring hair.
Ever since high school graduation some ALMOST a decade ago…..there wasn’t a permanent, semi or rinse that wasn’t in my hair.
My hair has been fried, dyed, and laid to the side and I can give you some helpful tips on how to take care of your ‘do and the color you put in it.
First and foremost, when it comes to NATURAL hair you want to get it as healthy as you possibly can before you start adding any type of color to it. You maybe growing out your natural roots but color is STILL a chemical.
Then you have to decide what color you want.
Permanent color is going to alter the pH of your hair BECAUSE the key word is permanent. It won’t wash out and in order to go back to you original color or something different, you must dye it a different color again.
Semi-permanent leaves color that will last for a while but it won’t be dead set in your hair. It’s great for highlights.
A rinse is for those that don’t like to commit and want the ability to switch up whenever they want to. Be careful of these because the BLEED everywhere. On your fingers when you scratch your hair, on your pillow when you go to sleep and in the shower when you wash your hair.
I always go for a permanent.
I dyed my hair pastel pink using la riche directions, but I mainly made the mix with conditioner. Ive got to get it out by next week because of my stupid school rules -.- I’ve already tried the vitamin c/baby shampoo/head and shoulders mixture, but Does anyone know any other methods to get semi permanent hair colour out fast?
