Be Sweet, Deadbeat - A Review

Be Sweet, Deadbeat was Sean Morris’ first solo show in Melbourne.
Bone galaxies, nude people, blue people, people having sexy time, beer cans, tacos, mushrooms, three-eyed wolves, horse skeletons, nude men holding small swords and nude men holding big swords (wink wink)…

Overall it was an impressive collection of works with just the right amount of sick humour. It made me think of nudist colonies and it turned out that Sean Morris had in fact referred to images from nudist communities!
My favourite piece was Space Taco Epiphany. Here is a detail of it:

Oh and of course…this was a favourite also:

I dragged my mother (on Tumblr) along to the show and she walked away with one of his works. So yeah… gooooood night!
If you’re in Melbourne, pop by House of Bricks to see his works. Runs until December 16.
