Mozart - Lacrimosa

A lot of people have been asking me about one of the classical pieces in BioShock Infinite. I’m more than happy to share this with you!

The piece is entitled Lacrimosa, and it’s from Mozart’s Requiem.

It is hands down one of my favorite classical compositions of all time, and I would like to thank BioShock for throwing it back my way. It’s a truly hauntingly beautiful and fragile piece. The lyrics are also quite befitting of the game’s concept as well.

Lacrimosa dies illa (mournful that day)
Qua resurget ex favilla (when from the ashes shall rise)
Judicandus homo reus. (a guilty man to be judged)

Huic ergo parce, Deus (Lord, have mercy on him)
Pie Jesu Domine  (gentle lord Jesus)
Dona eis requiem. (grant them eternal rest)
Amen.

If you have the time, I highly recommend listening to the full composition. I promise you you’ll fall in love in the first 5 minutes.

London Calling

Michael Giacchino

London Calling by Michael Giacchino.

Even though Star Trek Into Darkness has some major flaws, somehow it all seems to work. Giacchino score wasn’t as operatic as in the first one, but with a track as amazing as this one who honestly cares.
