Dear. Bands. Remember. Music. Saves. Lives
Music has been the scape goat for many that are considered to be different, or just don’t fit the “Mold”. I just like to use the word “Stronger”, because most so called “Normal” people may not know it but they are weaker, It’s easy for someone in a group to feel strong when they have a back up, but the true strong ones are the ones that are ostracized, the ones that are always alone, alone with music.
If you feel that you’re an outcast there are others looking to feel the cocmoradery of a group, and music does that. Listening to Metal music was mine. Although the times have changed and the music out there has changed, kids being ostracized has not. Concerts have become gatherings for many kids that are pushed to the limits just because they dress different, or are not into pop cultural or are just socially awkward (I’m one of those).
Music silently has saved many lives, so if you’re in a band either a garage band somewhere in middle America or you’re in a successful band driving in 5 tour busses because each member hates each other, don’t forget the big picture, your music is helping many kids go through the day and even stay alive.

I can make your child breathe when they stop. I can help your father survive a heart attack. I make myself get out of bed at 5am to make sure your mother has the medicine she needs to live. I work all day to save the lives of strangers. I make my family wait for dinner until I know your family member is taken care of. I make myself skip lunch so that I can make sure that everything I did for your husband today is charted. I make myself work weekends and holidays because people dont just get sick monday thru friday. Today, I might save your life.
