“My reaction to [being a political pawn] is, 'Do you not think I have my own reasons for doing this?' Here, let me show you. Is that not reason enough? Senator Jim Inhofe said that we have no business engaging in the debate, and I called his office and I asked to speak with him. He was too busy to speak with me. I said, 'Here's my cell phone. Call me.' I'm still waiting for him to call me. Rand Paul, I think, has the same notion. If he wants to ask me what my motives are for advocating for a safer culture, he can call me too.”

Mark Barden, father of Daniel Barden, one of the Sandy Hook victims

what really gets to me about these bombings and shootings in america is that the people who were attacked were just doing everyday activities.

no one should have to go to a batman movie and think “oh i should sit at the back in case i get shot”

no CHILD should have to go to SCHOOL and think “i better know my escape plan in case a murderer comes in”

no person should run a marathon thinking “i better finish quickly in case someone planted a bomb at the finishing line”

people should be able to feel safe in those places.

enough. it’s fucking enough.

I'm sick.

I’m sick of these things happening.

I’m sick of not feeling safe in kindergarten/college/airplanes/movies/malls, now races.

I’m sick of “my thoughts and prayers” going out to strangers.

I’m sick of this sadness that keeps resurfacing.

I’m sick of crying over lost, innocent people.

Just sick of it.
