Winter
“Jesus, it’s freezing!” John complains, wrapping himself further up into the secure warmth of several thick blankets. “Why did you have to burn the power out, anyway?”
“Experiment. I apologized.” The two men could barely see each other by the light of the moon, neither of them warm enough to attempt traversing through the flat and fondling potentially dangerous objects in search of a flashlight. “Didn’t think it would fail.”
John forced out a heavy sigh, rubbing the sides of his arms and letting several minutes pass in nothing but shivers and shuddered breaths. He nearly jumped when he felt arms slipping under the covers, wrapping themselves around the doctor’s shoulders as a forehead rested shamefully against his neck. “…sorry.”
A small smile spread across his lips, pulling the cold detective into his lap. The man seemed to be colder than he was, which John didn’t think was possible. “It’s alright,” he muttered, kissing the top of his lover’s head and rubbing his back in attempt to warm the both of them. “No more electrical experiments though, okay? Not in the house. We could have exploded.”
“Impossible, the wires would’ve had to touch and there would need to be—”
“You get my point.”
“…fine.”
The two men sat in the dark, trapping each other in a welcomed emrbace and let the heat of their bodies break the icy cold that the snowstorm outside leaked in.
I think Mycroft and Sherlock really do love each other though. If anything bad were to happen to Mycroft, say if he were to be threatened personally or kidnapped or something, Sherlock would not stop until the threat was gone and Mycroft was safe. I think Mycroft feels incredibly guilty for his blabbermouthery to Moriarty. I think they show their love; just not in the conventional ways.
I do too, but there’s such a BLOCK there. Like, I totally don’t think that they are ever the kind of brothers to hug and talk about their lives but there’s a definite lack of brotherly something there and it hurts me. I JUST WANT MYCROFT TO SAY “I LOVE MY BROTHER” EVEN IF IT’S NOT DIRECTLY TO SHERLOCK I AM CRYING

“Sherlock, you can’t keep measuring things down to the precise grain! The food’ll burn before you even finish getting everything in.” He pulled the pan off the stove, ignoring Sherlock’s noise of disgust.
“Well, I can’t hardly leave the cooking up to you, can I? You dump things in rather sloppily and don’t even care.” His hand closed around John’s wrist, trying to tug him away.
In a flash, John pushed him back a dark gleam in his eye. “You don’t seem to mind when I’m sloppily in other places…” He pressed his lips to Sherlock, tugging him down.
“When does Mrs. Hudson get back?” he asked, not really caring as the food on the stove began to char.
