sam talbot | $125 barbecue
UrbanDaddy is charging $125 for tickets to a Sam Talbot BBQ on the rooftop of the SoHo Mondrian. The offer includes drinks, tax and tip. Here’s why this is a BAD DEAL:
- “Seating is available on a first come, first served-basis” reads the fine print. Now, I’m a pretty laid back guy. If I don’t snag a lawn chair at my neighbor’s “free” BBQ, that’s cool. But you know what? If I’m paying $250 for me and a girl to eat at one of New York’s poshest hotels, I’m gonna go ahead and say I want a guaranteed seat.
- Imagine if you walked into Momofuku Ko, paid $250 for two tasting menus, and then David Chang said, “sorry bro, you gotta stand for the two-hour, eleven course meal.” You’d probably be angry after that encounter. In fact, as my Texas comrades say, you’d be plenty hot.
