When she asked “What did you mean by that”, what was she hoping he would say? That he really loves her? Was she prepared to accept that or reject him?

She looked so scared and insecure when she asked.

Was she relieved he said he didn’t remember? A bit disappointed maybe? Did she know he way lying?

Actually, I’m sure she did, his voice cracked a bit and he was looking around and.. well the man claims “his memory is a mighty fortress from which no fact ever escapes” ffs.

And when he asked “What did I say?” why didn’t she remind him? “You said you love me.” Imagine if she did that..

I hate this scene, I wish it never happened. But i love it so much. But I hate it.
