i find this song utterly amusing. i wish i could just leave it at that for my review.

this song is very very different from any other song ive heard about alcohol. any song on the radio would just be justifying how cool and amazing drinking is and how socially acceptable it really is. how patrick sets up the song, it really just sounds like how anyone would react to a night out with your friends is, like a regular human being. hes not picking up chicks or trying to start a fight; his story talks about a typical guy who drinks socially for a good time.

however, its also most different how his perception of introducing alcohol is in his song. he acts like he drinks too much rather than the usual not enough. and he acts like how i know a few of my friends are: they tell me they’re trying to cut back.. then relapse. its a vicious cycle of the evils of alcohol. at the same time, it shows how funny and ironic the whole scenario goes. however you put it, its kind of a type of satire for the listeners, trying to teach you through comedy.

i know patrick’s not much of a drinker to begin with, however he knows what hes talking about, haha. its humourous as it is real life. the song overall is catchy, funny, rock awesome and has a surprise at the end.. or is it the end? ;)
