NO I HAVEN’T YET
okay so obviously it’s an undercover thing. in most situations a married same gender couple would probably raise more eyebrows and get more attention than just…one of them on their own, so maybe it’s like a ~gay couples cruise~ that dick or roy’s been suspecting is involved with some nefarious or shady shit. so they go undercover as a married couple.
and at first they’re kind of silly abt it. like roy in particular gets a certain amount of glee out of calling dick ridiculous pet names bc dick has to go with it with minimal eye rolling—although roy’s also got complicated feelings about the whole thing since he’s been in love with dick since they were 12, but i think maybe he convinced himself he was over it and that’s why he’d be ok with pretending that he and dick were married. and then dick is just clueless about 1) roy’s feelings 2) his own feelings so like lol.
oh and i want a part where they kind of… explicitly say tell each other that they’re queer. bc i think that dick is a little oblivious about that, and roy’s probs suspected but never known for sure? but maybe someone mentions the fact that it’s p unethical if they’re pretending to be gay and roy’s like “i’m pretending to be married, i’m not pretending to be queer” and dick’s probably one of those people that doesn’t actually SAY that he’s pansexual, he’s like ~i fall in love with people not genders~ or whatever. but i want that to be brought up at some point
oh and they have to sleep in the same bed ofc, and dick’s a sleep cuddler and roy kind of secretly loves it bc he never sleeps that well unless he’s sharing a bed with someone and he’s got all these complicated feelings because like doing this with dick is starting to feel really really normal and he’s trying not to think about how after this mission is over they’re going to *stop* being domestic together. because roy realizes he’s kind of going to miss this closeness, and maybe he’s not as over dick as he’d like to think.
dick is kind of surprised by how easy it is to pretend to be married to roy though. and the realization sneaks up on him like—how normal, how disturbingly right it feels, and at first he assumes it’s just bc they’re really close and it’s not like they’ve never lived in shared quarters before, it’s not like they’ve never shared a bed before… but now it’s like, it gets to be a habit to just be touchy feely with roy, to let roy sling an arm around his shoulder and lean into his side, to hold his hand or lean his head on roy’s shoulder.
and roy kind of starts to tone it down bc it stops being funny to him—maybe he even pulls back a little, which dick is bizarrely hurt by, and maybe dick is like “roy you’re jeopardizing our cover we have to act married” and roys like “oh… right. sorry.” and dick assumes that that means that roy is like, that roy feels awkward doing this, and that is weirdly hurtful too and it makes dick wonder like why the hell he feels so comfortable with the charade.
there are also a couple kisses here and there, mostly in public—casual ones, pecks mostly, but one or two warm/sweet/lingering ones… and once dick sort of accidentally on purpose gives roy a goodnight kiss or smth and roy is CONFUSED and CONFLICTED but i think dick starts sort of experimenting like that to see what roy would do, see how dick himself feels about the whole thing, trying to figure it all out. and let’s say he comes to the right conclusion ie he wants to be married 2 roy like for real
aaaand eventually they bone!! yayyyy
So I was looking at this art I just reblogged and swooning when all of a sudden I realized that I don’t think I’ve ever seen or read Officer Grayson/CBI agent Roy Harper. Which is a really terrible waste of potential because Dick looks great in uniform and Roy looks great in a suit so why can’t they look great together.
like roy would see dick across a crowded room and karate chop his way through and grab dick by the shoulders and shake him and yell “D A T E M E” and then he’d blush and mumble about dick and his face and his butt wow and dick would be like um date sure and roy would fUCKING KISS HIS HAND BECAUSE HE’S A GODDAMN GENTLEMAN
roy/dick, snowed in
okay so this could very easily go in like, the same direction that that one issue of adjectiveless titans did—like, roy and dick go to idk a snow…lodge… place as a honeymoon thing or as a getaway thing or like in titans it was like, they were fighting, they have the opportunity to go to a cabin on a skiing lounge or smth, they decide to go—planning to go for just a few days, but they get snowed in.
so they hash through whatever it was they were arguing about, the misunderstanding or whatever Issue it was that they avoided talking about before, in the time that they’re snowed in, and it’s a very domestic and heartwarming type of thing because they’re ~working through their issues~ because they’re stuck together, and because they have to work together to keep warm and shit (CUDDLING FOR WARMTH)
i think if i were writing it i would probably write it as like, they weren’t together before the trip, but they kind of get it out in the open that they’re super into each other and then they Do It and become boyfs or w/e haha
WHAT IF dick is feeling really frustrated/mad about a problem he can't solve (i'd be interested to see what the thing is) and roy helps him solve it or - better yet - successfully reassures him that he doesn't have to

maybe it’s smth with one of their kids. i see lian and roy probably like—when lian grows up a little, she and roy tend to have more disagreements than she and dick do, because i figure she and roy are gonna wind up being more alike, and i think when lian’s in her preteens/teen-teens, i could see it being one of those situations where like, they used to be really close but then when lian grows up a little she starts to want space and want more control over her own life and when roy finally figures that out, he tries, but he has to fight his protective nature AND lian tends to overreact a little and assume he’s coddling her when in reality it’s a normal parent thing or whatever. so she and roy argue more than she and dick—dick winds up being the parent who tries and soothes stuff over a little, he isn’t always successful but he’s good at reminding lian that they both love her and stuff. and he’s not GREAT at listening but he gives it his best shot and he’s getting better all the time haha.
so while it COULD be about lian, that seems less likely. it could be about damian—i could see tensions between damian and bruce getting to the point where damian winds up moving in with dick for a while instead, sort of being unofficially adopted or w/e. either that or bruce stayed dead who cares. if that was the case then—maybe dick misses something. like he can see that damian’s upset about something but he has no idea what. and the way that he tries to solve the problem is inviting damian to talk about his feelings, which backfires, and—maybe it’s about the titans. like damian doesn’t feel like he fits there, and so during the argument about something compLETELY UNRELATED dick happens to mention the teen titans and damian like EXPLODES and STORMS OFF and dick is left being all upset and feeling awful like he just fucked everything up and he’s the worst older brother/father figure in the world etc.
and roy finds dick probably using the uneven bars, which he does when he’s upset. and roy waits for him to finish and then gives him a round of applause or whatever when dick dismounts. and he probs gives him a massage and then eventually dick comes out with it and rants about how he “just doesn’t understand damian!!” and “maybe he would have been better off with bruce” etc all kinds of shit.
and roy’s like, “what did you say to him” and dick’s like “nothing, i just mentioned his responsibilities with the titans…” and roy’s like “ah” and kind of explains that no, dick, the teen titans are not the safe haven for damian like they were for you, they might even be what’s stressing him out, etc. and it takes a while for that to sink into dick’s head but then once he wraps his head around it he and damian fix stuff. uwu
