British tree surgeon, Leon Timms, was at home when he saw a tiny chaffinch lying on the ground. Apparently, the small bird flew into one of the solar panels on Timms’ roof or hit a window, was dazed and having problems breathing. Feed the garden birds in the winter.

In return, they will not only love you for that, but also they will leave white markings on your shoes. It is worth it.

Capercaillie Tartan Lambswool Throw

Capercaillie Tartan Lambswool Throw
Inspired by the plumage of one of Scotland’s most endangered birds, the Capercaillie, and has been specially designed for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. The idea of producing a Capercaillie tartan came from discussions by the governors of the Scottish Tartan Authority, of which Lochcarron chairman, Alistair Buchan, is also its present chairman and RSPB Scotland receives a 7 per cent royalty from each sale of each rug. From around 20,000 birds in the 1970s there are now fewer than 2,000 Capercaillie left in Scotland, mainly living in the last remnants of the ancient Caledonian pine forests and some commercial conifer plantations in the north of the country. The Capercaillie (the name comes from the Gaelic ‘capull coille’, meaning ‘horse of the woods’) carries the dubious distinction of being the UK breeding bird most likely to become extinct by 2015. Our Super Soft Lambswool Throw is made from a finer grade of Lambswool to create softer version of our standard Lambswool Throws. Once again the rug is suitable for lighter use on sofas and in Bedrooms.
