New Yorkers Save the Date

My tattoo artist is a resident of Red Hook in Brooklyn, which was hit pretty hard by Sandy.  Ethan (tattoo artist) is looking to give back to his community by holding a tattoo / art event on December 16th, all of the proceeds of which will go to restoreredhook.org.  They’re still hammering out the details, but Ethan has already lined up a long list of very talented people to donate their time and artistry to the cause.  Details are here.  Save the date — if you’re down to get tattooed, great, if not, swing through anyway — these folks don’t just draw on skin!

Chicago! Where Y'at??

So while I’m talking tattoos, another artist I’ve worked with from Rivington Tattoo will be at the Chicago Tattoo Arts Convention next weekend.  His name is Sweety, and you can see samples of his work here.  He also has a tumblr, where he occasionally posts some recent work he’s done or works in progress.  Sweety is a talented dude, and a nice guy.  Which to me are two pretty fundamental criteria for choosing who you’ll let stab you over and over with tiny needles.

So if you live in or near Chicago and you want to get stabbed by Sweety, call or email Rivington Tattoo and ask to schedule something with him for his Chicago trip.  He’s booking up now.  If you don’t want him to tattoo you (or live far away, like me),  but you like what you see in his portfolio, reblog this shit and help a brother out!
