wasting one's breath and fueling the flames
guardian.co.ukIt’s not usually worth jumping on the bandwagon when it comes to criticising the US right wing. At best it’s wasted breath at worst it fuels the flames. Recently however, I’ve been struck by how paranoid and insecure the whole setup comes across. For all the focus on strength, autonomy, individualism as well as their predisposition for constitutional fetishism, the output as seen recently from the usual suspects comes across as ever-more desperate. Unfortunately this probably means their message is ever-more dangerous.
From Birchers to Birthers? http://mys.tc/x0 rightwing conservative christian republican media JBS evangelical dominionism
I know you've answered this a hundred jillion times but, in short, what is your beef with Sam Harris?
What beef do I have with banal, hebetudinous, rightwing ideologies under the guise of a secular, rational, enlightened New Atheist movement whose purported aim is “progress” against the barbaric dogma of faith? Great question, let me get back to you on that one.
a messy and useless rant
about to lose my shit on this fucking shit- adam kokesh call to bear arms and bring rifles and march around the capitol bullshit is causing all the pacifist, nonviolent guru folk to talk about standing in between the guns and the police with flowers.
like wtf, left wing people are calling it an ‘illegal march’ which basically reinforces the state’s control over what assembly is ‘valid’ or ‘justified’ and therefore worthy of NOT BEING ASSAULTED BY POLICE. fucking apologism.
people marching with guns does not ‘provoke’ the police state. this is the same peace policing rhetoric that pacifists use to silence people who YELL at the cops by calling them ‘violent’ or ‘disruptive’. the state should be fully responsible for their ability to exercise authoritarian violence.
this also ignores the history of armed left struggle including the Black Panthers, who did not arm themselves to ‘provoke the police’ but to defend their community.
PLEASE LET ME clarify, i don’t want rightwingers or libertarians with guns flexing their useless muscles but i will say that any type of implication that carrying a gun provokes state violence is fucking apologist.
it justifies state terror and encourages victim blaming, snitchjacketing and the demonization of militancy.
I’m not in a rush or anything but you see the environmental crisis is pretty drastic and reform efforts are enabling and counterproductive and only misdirect energy so I will admit, since some libertarian fuck is being ridiculous and chose to call for this type of an action, i am interested to see what the state does if a group arms themselves. clearly, a right leaning group rather than a left leaning autonomous grouping. it would be interesting to see strategically how the state chooses to show force, or whether the state escalates. i know it’s easy to make this about gun rights and who and what has that right, but if you are going to have that conversation without talking about state violence you are not addressing the root of the problem
any rhetoric about ‘provoking the police’ is BULLSHIT. if shit does pop off and people are shot and killed and i hear a fucking WORD about anyone having asked for it or deserved it or should have expected it, i will lose my shit all over your face. i don’t give a fuck if they’re rightwing; state apologism is NOT OKAY.
Mexico, the socialist country.
Hispanics are not Democrats, don’t vote Democrat because of immigration. That’s not the main reason why they vote for Democrats, it doesn’t have anything to do with lax immigration policy. It It has to do with the fact that they are socialists by nature. They come from Mexico, which is a socialist country. They want big government intervention, they want big government goodies.

—元2ちゃんねる管理人のひろゆきさんがネトウヨに呈した苦言 : 2のまとめRI have to clean the house, my parents are coming over to hang out with us this evening.
Can you believe that my dad that is almost 50 and plays Halo with my husband? I think it’s kind of cool.
Yeah so the guys will be in the office playing Halo and drinking Guinness or Corona, while the girls are in the living room watching a movie drinking vodka cranberries and gin&tonics.
My family used to not be so cool, they were actually uptight. They still are to a degree, especially when it comes to politics. I grew up in a right of right wing family (yes, that is how they view themselves) and believe me it was hard for me to change my views on life after I moved out. I think that goes for people who grow up in the opposite household. D and I would argue and I would just completely shut him out because of how I grew up. As I matured, it was easier to see both sides of the political spectrum. I claim to be a moderate. I can’t completely side with the Liberals or the Conservatives, I tend to like little bits of each side. That’s why I hate CNN, MSNBC and FOX NEWS. I can’t watch the news or I want to kill everyone. It does make me mad when Liberals make fun of Conservatives and vice versa. They don’t realize how much animosity it creates between the parties. Get over yourselves. People think that politics are black and white, I don’t think it is. It’s rather upsetting that we have so much discord in our nation. We are not the superpower we once were. I still feel blessed to be a US citizen but most of the times I am embarrassed of how we conduct ourselves in front of the world. And don’t even get me started on how people don’t cross their chest when the National Anthem is played. I find it extremely disrespectful to the men that have lost their lives defending this country, whether I agree with the wars or not.
Sorry this got to be a political post than the fun carefree one I had in mind.
