A Minute With: "Glee" star Chris Colfer's "Lightning" film debut
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Chris Colfer, best known for portraying the openly gay Kurt Hummel on the hit musical television series “Glee,” will make his feature-film acting and writing debut in dark indie comedy “Struck by Lightning” on Friday.
Colfer, 22, plays a high-school student who blackmails the popular kids into contributing to his literary magazine. The film also stars comedienne Rebel Wilson and “Modern Family’s” Sarah Hyland.
Colfer sat down with Reuters to talk about the film, and his day job on “Glee,” which is now in its fourth season on U.S. network Fox.
“But who is this obsessive focus really for? I’ve never met a single person who enjoyed the retrospectives or the graphic replays. I’ve yet to see someone write in a personal blog or a Facebook status, “Really happy to see that Reuters decided to post 9/11 pictures at 10 minute intervals on their Tumblr – it just feels right.” In a This American Life episode that tackled the idea of how to grieve for the September 11th attacks ten years later, a survivor said that she is always relieved when September 12th comes around. When host Ira Glass asked her who the memorials were for if not for people like her, she said simply, “Well, I don’t know.”

As you may have read, Reuters' Matthew Keys—who is a contributor to SFB—has been indicted on conspiracy charges related to the hacker group Anonymous.
politico.comMatthew Keys, a deputy social media editor at Thomson Reuters, has been charged in an indictment for allegedly conspiring with members of the hacker group “Anonymous” to hack into a Tribune Company website, the Justice Department announced today.
Keys, a former web producer for the Tribune Co-owned television station KTXL FOX 40, in Sacramento, Calif., was charged with providing members of the group with log-in credentials for a computer server belonging to the Tribune Co., according to the DoJ’s press release.

(Reuters) - The child who prefers a book to a birthday party? Ask her what she wants to read. The quiet employee who dreads the open-office designs so in vogue these days? Give the man a cubicle!
So argues Susan Cain in her new book, “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking.” Rather than labor fruitlessly to make introverts something they’re not, parents, teachers and employers should in fact encourage the dreamier among us, the author — and proud introvert — says.
Rosa Parks, Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Steven Spielberg, J.K. Rowling, Charles Schulz — Cain says introverts do fine once they find their mode of expression.
Introverted? Let it be.
If we don’t, Cain suggests, we could not only be stifling tomorrow’s Eleanor Roosevelt, W.B. Yeats or Steve Wozniak, but impairing their mental and physical health as well.
