p.s.

In case you were wondering, the titles of the aforementioned Regency romances were: Tender Rebel and Gentle Rogue. Not gonna lie, they were kind of awesome, despite (because of?) millions of glaring anachronisms.

Which Regency Hero Should You Marry?

quibblo.com

The Genius Gentleman spends a great deal of time inventing clever things in his private laboratory in the Cotswalds. He often forgets to eat. On the run from your murderous uncle, your perfect handwriting leads to employment as his amanuensis. You quickly make a friend of the book, straighten out the household accounts and bring him a cup of chocolate at midnight. This leads to stolen kisses and the discovery that his daily walks have resulted in a great many muscles. And, well, he’s a VERY clever inventor.

Aw yeeeeeeah, I think that means Catallus Graves.

Who’d you get?

The Duke & I Kindle Edition, with bonus material; $1.99

amazon.com

I don’t know how long this is going to be $1.99, but if you want to give historical romances a shot (specifically set in Regency England), this is a really good place to start. I fucking love Julia Quinn, and this is one of her bests. Although I will admit, the plot is a little lol, but well. It is a romance novel.

Science, Sorcery, & Seduction

I’ve just finished some preliminary research into Regency era chemistry~

The heroine for my latest work in progress is a gifted arcane con-artist with a special flair for pyrotechnics, which means she’s also a talented chemist.

Vanessa Ashwood has established a fearsome reputation as the scandalous and infamous Witch of Seven Dials—the patron sorceress of the worst crime district in London. Armed with little more than her wits and wide range of smoke & mirror ‘magic’ at her command, Vanessa descends into the darkest heart of London’s underbelly, taking on the Town’s most reviled secret society in a quest to rescue her sister, and destroy the fiendish nobles who took her.

Her perilous mission of rescue and vengeance is aided by Timothy Fawkes, a Bowstreet runner who has his own reasons for wanting to see the Hellfire Club brought low. It’s a thrilling tale where the lines between science and sorcery are blurred, where a sister’s quest leads her to the depths of Hellfire, and where love provides an enchantment all its own.

For my very first attempt at NaNoWriMo, it’s a fairly ambitious project, so please wish me luck!
