Alcoa sees benefits of energy cuts

Alcoa’s Pinjarra refinery improved its energy efficiency by 5% through plant upgrades and installation of co-generation plants. The upgrade additionally increased production, increasing revenue by $160 million per year. The cogen plants saved $7.5 million per year as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 15%.
