Alpha vs Epsilon
At the beginning of this season, and ever since the end of season 7, I’ve slowly been keeping away from hot Red vs Blue discussion areas, because people were beginning to interchange Epsilon and Church (meaning Alpha-Church), like they were the same person. I spoke up a few times, but often was shot down or discouraged as people didn’t see a difference, or thought it was “nitpicking”.
I’ve never seen them as the same character. Epsilon acts way too different than the Alpha. He may have the same VA and now the same armor, but he is far from the same character, just like how Alpha is far from the Director. Sadly, though, a very large (and very prominent) part of the fandom didn’t share that point of view (or didn’t care).
This was the reason I was so hesitant to actively follow RvB blogs on tumblr - because Alpha is my favorite character, and I got tired of people saying Epsilon was pretty much him.
But over the past few days you guys have given me hope that myself and my small group of RvB friends are not alone in making the definite distinction between the two characters. You guys have made us feel less alone in the world. Feels good man.
SO. TL;DR - THANKS FOR MAKING ME FEEL LESS ALONE IN THE WORLD WHEN IT COMES TO SEEING A DISTINCT DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALPHA AND EPSILON. THIS IS FOR YOU:
ok I don’t know much about RvB but what i’ve gathered from my friends and tumblr is that
-There are 2 teams and freelancers and their job is to just kill eachother and it’s funny and sad at the same time
-There’s some guy named the “directah” and he controls the whole shebang and he’s pretty much Gordon Freeman’s evil twin but with a southern accent
-He’s someones dad or something idk I forgot already
-There’s a red headed chick named Carolina who’s a badass with an ass
-Church can’t hit anything
