Today, I'm grateful for...

God.

I was in a car wreck today.  Nothing major -my brakes went out and I rear-ended the car in front of me that was at a stop.  Fortunately, I was going uphill and already slowing down when I realized I would hit her.  She was really sweet -told me it’d just “given her a little fright” and not to worry about it- but I was freaking out, totally understandable for someone who had never been in any type of accident.  I continued driving very slowly to school, the brakes seemingly back to normal.

Later, my dad checked my van.  Turns out, the brakes aren’t working AT ALL.  As in, all they do is grind and make hellish sounding noises.  SO, I have no idea how I got to school okay.  Also, I nearly decided to hop on the interstate today to visit a good friend of mine.  I shiver when I think of my brakes going out at 70-80 miles per hour.

So, I am grateful today for God’s protection and hand in my life.  I can’t comprehend giving credit to “luck” or “fate” because that’s not what it was at all: it was planned, and I am blessed.
