most cis women—radscum especially—simply cannot get over it when they see trans women who are prettier than they are.
it’s definitely one key source of their transmisogyny because of how damaging it is to their simple-minded biological essentialism.
it offends their collaboration with patriarchy and just makes them so very mad.
TW: cissexism, violence, suicide (?)
Hey, “radical feminists”, “radfems,” or radscum,
There’s nothing radical about shitting on trans* folks, and nothing radical about reducing gender down to genitals. You’re trumpeting the same bullshit that the patriarchy you claim to fight does.
Oh, and whinging about trans* people wanting to crush your spirits, etc?
Y’all do more than just that to trans* folks.
And you wanna argue that you’re not physically harming them and/or going out and killing them, that they’re threatening you and other cis women? You see, the thing is, you don’t need to do any of that to harm and/or kill someone. There are more ways to hurt a person. Many more ways to kill a person.
If you deny a person their identity, and you make their life much, much more difficult than life already inherently is, that can kill a person. Perpetuating attitudes that create a dangerous environment for them too can kill in many different ways.
Final Radfem chat update (I promise!)
The poll results are in! Option #2 won. However, we are still very few in the chat (no more than around 10 unique chatters), and still no male troll problems. Hence I will adopt option #1, until further notice.
Here’s the official Radfem chat page
With more information on how to join, FAQ, informational links and such. It will be updated with more information according to need.
Again, pretty please reblog this. I want as many radfems and radfem allies/interested to know about this chat. Together we can create a safe online space for us! :)
so here's my understanding of "radical" feminists
[trigger warning: rape, transphobia, cissexism, mention of forced sterilization]
gender is “socially constructed”, at least until you get to biology and science, and then suddenly it isn’t, because those fields have totally not been dominated by white male interests for the past two millenia but we’re going to use those definitions of gender that men have imposed on us anyway because those trans women are just wrong and they are trying to intrude on our sacred womanhood which is defined solely by being able to have children which is totally not also a social construction imposed on us by patriarchy and is not totally nullified by women who get cervical cancer or women of color who have been forcibly sterilized or women who hit menopause nope not at all and also we “choose” to be lesbians and omg those trans women are raping nonexistent women’s bodies because rape can exist when there’s only one person involved and they are consenting completely and those darn trans women what’s wrong with them no of course we’re not doing what men have been doing to us and taught us to do to other women what? what master’s tools we don’t read audre lorde what’s intersectionality that’s wrong no we’re not racist lol and nope we’re awesome and you’re all wrong just because so there nyeah
There are different circles within the radfem community.
There’s the reformist radfems, who are for reforming the system. This generally means while many believe in transforming one’s mind and unlearning harmful sexist messages, however, thay do nothing for the gender-sex binary except enforce it (which is enforced by their strong transphobia and lack of desire to actually unlearn harmful genderism). They also have a history of racist discussion and erasure. Here one can find writtings by white women, white lesbians and a few white non-conforming women/others.
Then there’s the revolutionary radfems, who are for the utter take down of the current system. No reforming, no working within it, they call for a total deconstruction of it. It’s all or nothing basically. They don’t jive well with reformists mainly because they history of racism and transphobia (also their occasional bouts of homophobia). This is the branch that started working on re-envisionary theory, coined by a Ms. Crenshaw as Intersectionality. Here one can find writings by women of color, queer women, poor and middle class women, indigenous women, trans* women and non-conforming women/others.
This blog aims to be a space of the revolutionary radfems of the community. Reformists *coughcoughradscumcoughcough* need not share our space.
FEMINIST FRIENDS?
I dunno how to really get involved with the tumblr radical feminists, but there are so many things I want to talk about with you. The more classes I take and the more I research, the better I feel, but it’s a lonely place. I’m the only Women Studies minor at my small, southern liberal arts college, and while my friends are supportive, they don’t understand. They just hear me ranting about inequality and the patriarchy and think I’m sensitive. You all are funny and passionate and confident in what you have to say.
I want to be a part of the feminist community, not the liberal/fun/lipstick feminists that seem to be so popular now, but real, uncompromising feminists that don’t submit because they’re afraid of the “angry, militant feminist” trope. Fuck that!
On top of this, I’ve been acting since I was 12, and I’m on scholarship to go to school for that. Really fucking problematic to be a woman and in theatre. By its nature, theatre is full of objectification. Right now I’m at a point where I’ve gotta start writing plays that tell women’s stories or find a new medium to express myself. If you’re reading this, check out Caryl Churchill. She’s a great example of a radfem playwright.
So… anybody wanna talk about shit? I’ve been following some of your blogs and I wanna get in on the conversations.
Also, while I’ve had different tumblrs, I have no clue how to work tumblr. So… reblog this? Shit, I dunno, chat me if you want?
I find it funny that most of the people hating on radfems in the radfem and related tags don’t even know what radical feminism is.They just heard from of a friend of a friend that the radfems were over yonder burning transwomen at the stake and decided turn against the movement completely based on that. What is even funnier is that most of them are females. I don’t consider myself a radfem but the hate they get from tumblr queers~ for standing up for the rights of females is sickening. And that is really what radical feminism is about at its core. The beef they have with the trans community is the push to ignore the female reality in favor of gender identity.
We have another troll, y'all.
If you are considering quitting blogging, please do not delete your blog.
If you must delete your blog (for whatever reason), please re-register your old username and throw up a placeholder.
It looks like somebody is still plucking up old radfem usernames with no good intentions. Femalestruggle and zombiesnightmare have had their usernames scooped up — I’ll go ahead and see if I can’t find more abandoned usernames before I open a support ticket about this.
Again, if you are considering quitting Tumblr, please do not delete your blog.

An Odd Question
How do radical feminists feel about naturism, commonly known as nudism?
For me? I see it as a quick and easy way to dismantle one of the most pervasive and deeply ingrained patriarchal institutions the world has known: fashion.
No dresses, no heels, nothing binding or distorting one’s natural shape.
The perverse mystery aura surrounding the female body, that ironically revolves around showing as much skin as possible while still being clothed, would wither and die.
Furthermore, the trends of the Trans community would be revealed as the big game of dress-up it really is.
I can’t see much wrong with nudism, but in a patriarchy anything can be turned into shit.
Other radfem thoughts?
Girl Clothes
While I’m sure it’s well meaning to say “In a world without gender girls could wear clothes that are currently considered boy clothes and boys could wear clothes that are currently considered girl clothes.”
But let’s be honest, how much “girl clothes” would even exist in the first place if we weren’t in a patriarchy?
Eat all the brownies
- X: Smoking was basically the last habit I had from my eating disorder, so while I'm happy to kick the habit for many reasons, that awful voice in my head is screaaaaming at me. So I shut it up with a brownie.
- paleotrees: Eat all the brownies always! Every time a woman (especially an eating disordered woman) eats a dessert, we get closer to revolution. Dessert is a revolutionary act, be shameless.
