Sign upBus Bus Bus my life away
So I’m not sure when bus companies decided that it would be really great to eliminate personal space bubbles during rush hour and that holding your hand up above your head for more than 20 minutes was comfortable, but they did. I mean sure, they have poles for those of us under 6’, but they aren’t really evenly spaced enough.
Come on U of M, just give us a few more connectors and a few more stops so that I don’t have to get dirty looks from the guy next to me when the bus turned right and I almost fell into his lap. Five times.
Quick Story
I’m at the bar. Right? Right. I am wearing shorts and a tshirt, because its motherfucking summer and I’m funemployed. My tshirt perhaps was purchased at the Hustler store in San Diego, and perhaps says “Property of Fuck U” on the front (but not in an easily readable font). Because I’m a classy dame, you see. Anyway. I also have tats on the insides of my wrists. Not shocking by any means, but relevant to the story. I end up chatting with these older gentlemen at the bar. I am desperate, so I straight up ask if either of them works for a company that is hiring. Gentleman A beckons me to his barstool, immediately says “if you’re looking for a job you cover up yoour tats and you don’t wear a shirt like that”, or something to that effect. NO SHIT. I AM AT THE BAR IN THE MIDDLE OF A TUESDAY AFTERNOON, AS ARE YOU. AND YOU ARE ALSO WEARING SHORTS. DO NOT JUDGE ME. Anyway. Turns out he used to be an assistant DA, but realized that the real money was in ambulance chasing. In fact, he even heard about my spouse’s most recent legal infraction (not that he’s had that many) and tried to convince me that he had suffered a neck injury. Just…… what? Anyway, asshole. Point being. Bah.
I think it's really, really dumb
that people are causing drama and stress for Mandi of Kuma Crafts. Grow up and enjoy your rad necklaces.
How Laci Green has helped Me
I found Laci around the time when she first really became popular on Youtube. Her video about Slut Shaming had been featured on YouTube and it caught my eye in the side bar. I instantly knew she was something different and needless to say I subscribed. Over the year and a half or so since that video came out she’s made her way around the web to Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook. All of which I follower her on. She even had her own site which is awesome.
I joined her for various Live Streams that she did, she greeted me as a regular a few times. She’s always been polite, understanding and helpful in any interaction I had with her. I remember being in the live stream the night they killed Bin Ladin and hearing her thoughts on the matter as it was happening was a breath of fresh air.
Where Laci really helped me thought was through expanding my mind. I formally identified myself as “Gay” but she’s really helped me realize that labels like that really don’t matter. People like who they like, some people like guys, some people like girls, some people like every kind of gender. It really doesn’t matter. It’s given my the courage to accept that there is a girl that I like and to face the awkward process of almost a reverse coming out of sorts.
She’s also helped me realize how much body shaming and just overall negative input comes from the media these days. I considered myself media literate before watching her but she’s helped me realize there’s so much more negative stereotypes and bullshit in the media than I ever could have thought.
IN CLOSING. I really hope to see Laci back one day. Thanks for helping me cope with life and its weirdness.
