Hello!

When I first joined Tumblr, I hadn’t even thought about the fact that I will become an astronomy passionate.
Before Tumblr, I’ve stumbled upon a software called Stellarium. I’ve enjoyed using it a lot, even if I didn’t know anything at all about astronomy. I found galaxies, nebulae, planets and took it further. I found another software called Celestia (which is now discontinued), and explored the local neighborhood in 3D (the Solar System and its contents and the Local Group of galaxies).
During this time, my parents noticed that I’ve been exploring the universe all the time, and for my 17th birthday (9 september 2011), one unexpected gift was given to me: an Omegon Refractor AC 90/1000 telescope. I was at a loss. I didn’t know what to do. I eagerly waited for the night. Just after the dusk, I’ve rushed to my flat’s rooftop and set up my telescope (I happen to live at the 8th floor so the viewing conditions are okay). The weather was quite pleasant, but I had no idea what to look at. I was so inexperienced, and I don’t even remember what I did that night. But anyway, since then, I’ve explored some jewels of the night sky, such as all the planets, the Andromeda Galaxy (I’ve also struggled to find Triangulum, but light pollution did not permit it), the Pleiades cluster, the Orion Nebula, many stars and so on. I searched the Crab Nebula, The Carina Nebula, but I couldn’t get a glimpse of them, because of light pollution. I could say that my dream is to travel to a really, really dark site in the Southern Hemisphere and explore the wonders of the southern sky.
Now back to Tumblr. The first few months have been spent for reading about astronomy and reblogging. I would like to give a special thanks to the-star-stuff, because it was because of her I’ve learned so much. After a long period of learning and reading (6 months to be exact), I took the courage and made my first post. I only had only one follower, quantumaniac, to whom I would also like to thank for following me for such a long time. Still, I didn’t get too many notes on my posts, so I started tagging, thinking that would get me more followers. And it did bring a few. After that, I begun posting on a regular basis, but never received more than 10 notes. But luck was with me. It happened that I posted a news article about the Space Shuttle Discovery Discovery and it got featured in #science. I’ve gained quite a few followers and didn’t stop posting since then! More information will be posted in the “Blog statistics” post in the upcoming moments.
At the moment, I could say that I have a nice amount of followers and many friends, from which spaceplasma is my closest one, and I would like to thank her for helping me with so many things!
More posts coming, stay with me!
Hello! I just read your post claiming that Obama is a murderer - and I'm legitimately curious as to why you would think that. Answer privately so that we can have a chat about it.
I’m perfectly willing to have such a conversation right here, and I’d rather have it publicly because it seems it’s still a point people don’t quite get yet.
He’s a war criminal. Try reading the drone stats sometime. His domestic policies are generally sensible (and even so, not really but people don’t really know of them to begin with), and thus, the support, but his foreign policies are absolutely disgusting and inhumane. Try going through this tag.

he might be a murderer, but at least he’s intelligent. i would much rather have a smart mas murderer in office than have a witless ciswhite supremacist looby for president. i’m not gonna deny that he’s an asshole for not bringing our troops home.
but aside from his horrid foreign policy, he’s done quite well given the shitstorm he was handed.
Thing about most mass murderers? They’re not mentally deranged. They’re actually quite intelligent. They make very careful plans, they want power. That’s what he’s doing, out for power and profit. There isn’t really a choice in government, both sides are controlled by corporations. Obama’s made out to be the good guy because people like his domestic foreign policies better. So people cheer on that, but completely forget the other people dying over the world being exploited, which is kinda what the want. And he’s good, good for who? Good for the US? So they can be comfy while the rest of the world gets bombed on? But I forget, no one cares about PoC in other countries, we’re expendable. Who cares if Americans are living comfy.
If I sound angry, it’s because I am. People like looking at little things and forget the bigger picture.
