i don’t get why prostitution is illegal
like
here’s this person who’s willing to have sex with me. and i worked to make this money, i earned it, and if i wanted i could use it to buy alcohol and drink myself into a coma but instead i’m giving it to this person so we could have sex.
and they want to have sex with me, it’s their body and they’re choosing to do this with it, i’m not forcing them and they’re not forcing me, and i’m paying them no less than what they ask for

why don’t we legalise prostitution so we can regulate it, tax it and provide healthcare for prostitutes so they don’t have to resort to dealing with pimps who usually drug them and abuse them. and if it were legal there wouldn’t be any pressure to stay with a pimp so the prostitutes could retire if they wanted or quit when they wanted and take sick days and stuff like that
if we made it legal and regulated it we could ensure that the women and men on the streets have good housing and food and medical care and contraceptives and access to education about sex and stds and the customers would be able to have access to those things too

If I was ever a pimp I would have my hoes sell fruit out of a kiosk on the street corner.
