Monju-kun says Oi-kun is against the resuming of reactors

Monju-kun is a character born out of the fast-breeder-reactor, Monju. He explains about abolishing nuclear reactors on Twitter for everyone to easily understand.

Oi-kun is a cute nickname for the Oi nuclear power plant.

「Oi-kun is also against resuming of his nuclear reactors.」

I’m furious. On the Friday night of June 15, I felt as if my sodium was going react with my tears and explode while watching the live-stream video of roughly 11,000 people who gathered in front of the Prime Minister’s official residence to protest against the resuming of the Oi nuclear power plant.

Everyone there were regular folks; there were many children and stylish young women among the crowd as well as young mothers with babies, even elderly people. Stereotyped as docile and polite Japanese citizens voluntarily gathered there after work on Friday night; 11,000 of them! without anyone or any organization prompting them to do so. They all politely protested saying, “We’re against resuming of the Oi plant!” and “Protect our children [from radiation]!”

[Our government] ignoring these strong and sincere protesting voices made me wonder that Japan wasn’t a democratic nation after all… If we don’t have a democratic nation, we’re just going to have to get it back on our own.

Oi-kun says, “I don’t have emergency vents or base-isolated buildings for earthquakes. Please don’t restart me.”

I’m not going to let it [the government’s decision on resuming the Oi nuke plant] discourage me, and I’m going to keep my voice up to prevent other nuke plants from resuming.

Urgent International Appeal “Restart of Ohi Nuclear Power – A Threat to International Security” 31 May 2012

peacewalks.wordpress.com

Tell Prime Minister Noda not to restart the reactors at Ohi!

Radioactive tuna has just been found in California, people from Fukushima are displaced and suffering

The world is still unsure of the fate of reactor 4 at Fukushima Daiichi Prefecture

If the reactors of Japan re-open it is putting the people, environment, and everything that survives off of it further at risk.

We do not need nuclear energy.

We must put an end to this toxic industry.

“He's a compromise candidate. He doesn't have his own independent power base. And he's not a particularly strong communicator. He's not a populist at all. He's sort of a typical throwback to the Japanese prime minister of yore, the faceless grey suits. Even in Japan his name recognition factor is quite low.”

—Jeffrey Kingston, director of Asian Studies at Temple U’s Japanese campus • Giving a not-so-enthralled take on the new Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshihiko Noda. This article states that Noda, a former finance minister, acknowledged during his campaign that “he was no goldfish, but rather an unattractive loach, a bottom-feeding fish.” We’re endlessly curious how it would be received stateside if Mitt Romney proclaimed his similarity to an ugly, bottom-feeding fish. source (viafollow)
