    Postal workers on strike in 1970. The last straw was a belated 4% raise for the workers, alongside a 41% raise for members of Congress.

    This was the first time that government workers had gone on strike, and they were devastatingly effective. The workers delayed the draft and the census, and gained collective bargaining rights. The capitalists have been sore ever since; that’s why they’re pretending that the Post Office loses money and needs to be privatized.

    Like every single postal workers dream is to go postal and that’s why they become postal workers

    Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe says that at the current rate of loss, the agency will completely run out of money by October 2012.
