Okay well first of all those are the cooulest neighbours ever, like seriously. That’s terrible though. :c I remember back then I fought a shiny Bellsprout and though it was a glitch in the game. I caught it thinking it would change back and it was just the cartridge jammed in wrong, but when I found out about shinies I was pleasantly surprised! Eventually I lost my Silver version though, haha… :c Not that the data would still be there at this point anyway.

See, everyone has their sad shiny story! It’s like a rite of passage for Pokemon mastery or something. That’s the worst though. D: It reminds me of a less sad, more funny story of when I went back to play Gold and Silver after having played the newer games. Y’see, Spinarak is one of my favorite Pokemon, so when I went back to play an older game and encountered one, I freaked out because the first one I found was a purple one, and that’s what a shiny Spinarak looks like!!! And I didn’t have any Pokeballs! A few encounters later and I realized something. As it turns out, ALL Spinarak were purple in Gold and Silver, and had their coloring changed to green in Crystal which its remained ever since. They did recycle the purple color though for the shiny Spinarak in later generations. It makes me wonder, were shiny Spinaraks in Gold and Silver green? Pokemon mysteries, yo.
