Highlights from Ozine Fest 2012 - Day 1.

So yeah I was there for all three days. :)) Here’s my first post. Feel free to ignore if you’re not into this stuff. :D

My costume for General Olivier of FMA didn’t make it, so I went as a random con-goer with silver hair instead.

There were a lot of figmas on display, and me being such a big Square Enix nerd totally loved all the Final Fantasy ones.

^this one was my favorite though. That Fenrir was soo shiny. :)

One of my OTPs right here. :”) All the Crisis Core memories flashing back.

^Gilgamesh was totally awesome.

There were also these cool-looking ball-jointed dolls.

This was the first day of the con, so there weren’t really that many cosplayers. It was easier to move around and take in what was there, and of course, browse and buy some merchandise - I actually got a few pins, among them, my first piece LM.C, Durarara!! and Soul Eater merchandise. I really wanted something with Zaraki Kenpachi of Bleach and Juvia or Gajeel of Fairy Tail though.

The Karaoke and Battle of the Bands was on this day too, and we watched a bit. It was kind of different for us, being able to watch the stuff going on again. Oh, and there was a League of Legends cosplay competition too - but I have never played that game and I would probably not get into it. lol.

So, on to the cosplayers!

^Hawaiian Obama with my friend, Zuki, as Lan Fan of FMA.

^Us with my favorite character from Air Gear - Kazu.

^us with Serah of FFXIII-2. Her Sword-Bow is awesome because it really can transform.

PIRATES!

^we found a Roy Mustang. So now there’s Zuki as LanFan and Lau as Izumi with him.

^and of course, my favorite cosplayer ever - Jin (behindinfinity) as Alto from Macross Frontier, with my friend Lau. :)

We were able to see Miguel (merkymerx) just when we were about to go home. He wasn’t cosplaying, but that MCR shirt is pwnsome.

Lau is a Star Wars fan, and yeah, I have to say those lightsabers looked like the real deal.

I met up with my friend since elementary, who was cosplaying KHR’s Gokudera. We joked that I was cosplaying FemDera and were fraternal twins for the day. lol.

Us with a Lambo cosplayer.

So yeah, my favorite part of the day was being able to play on my dream console - the PlayStation 3. I played Naruto Generations with Lau and we wagered that this match would decide who she’d cosplay in Naruto for our cosplay in November (I had already deicded on Juugo, and she was torn between Sasuke and Suigetsu)…

Suffice to say, I won (I played as Sasuke). I guess button mashing and those hours on Naruto for the PSP kind of helped. BUT ON THE PS3 IT WAS LIKE ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. So yeah - our Team Taka has a captain now. :))

Oh, and since Lau came from school (she has summer classes) she was able to get our pottery projects from our Fine Arts class - here’s my pseudo-Zetsu paperweight-thing. lol.

Oh yeah - there was free soda too. They weren’t keeping track of who already got some during the first day, so we all got seconds - and some of us got thirds. lol.

All in all, it wasn’t the most amazing con experience ever, and I couldn’t shake off the fact that there was something missing - oh right, most of our cosplay group.
But I enjoyed myself, so it was okay. :))

Since well, this was us last year:

Ten already, and that’s just the cosplayers. I really miss these guys. :”(
