Lessons with Petr

Petr van Blokland, whom we have every 2 weeks, is teaching us a horde of skills. Our first class was at his studio in Delft, a really beautiful city just outside Den Haag, I don’t have any pictures of this because it’s a bit weird posting pictures of someone’s house I guess. Last class, however, he came to us in Den Haag and we spoke about the role of sketching in the design process. Picked up a bunch of handy tips on making presentations earlier to avoid catastrophes and getting past the design-block of commencing a project. We also spoke briefly about XML and it’s merits as a higher level method of storing and archiving information so that it’s useful for a mix of applications and workflows. This week we’re due for another lesson, really looking forward to it.

“Petr Cech: "We need to find a balance between a really high and dangerous defensive line and a safe line.”

—this must be done as soon as possible. AVB plays his line very high leaving space behind the defenders than even the most sub-par of teams can expose. As a coach he likes to attack, attack, attack - which is what we need - but we have to learn how to be safe at the same time.

Grappa

By: PetroMarine Energy Services, LTD

Grappa is an Italian spirit made from the skins, pulp, seeds, and stems (also known as pomace) of the grapes after the pressing for wine.  Grappa usually contains between 35 to 60% alcohol.

Grappa is also a protected name in the European Union.  It is produced under that name only in Italy, San Marino and Switzerland’s Italian canton.  It is mostly colorless, but it can also be faintly colored due to the grapes used.
