Congratulations on your award! I've always wondered, how come you volunteer so much and work so hard for your club? I mean, I'm in a Key Club, but it's not my passion or anything. What makes you so motivated in this club?

Thank you! And my motivation to serve this club and the community is primarily from the home life I’ve lived. I don’t come from the most mentally healthy family life, so Key Club was my escape.

I started finding volunteer events for this club, and I got hooked on it. Before I used to have trust issues. I was skeptical of everyone, I believed no good could come out of interacting with strangers or people my age. And then I thought, wow what if someone has the same image of me? So I wanted to make a change.

I volunteer to put smiles on others’ faces. I know the stress of working alone on big events, so I’m always glad to lend a helping hand. Serving has become a passion of mine not only because it is a positive outlet of stress, but it gives me the opportunity to show others, adults and teenagers alike, that the youth is capable of doing something productive.

Now that I’ve become president, I want to share my passion for this club. I want to be that person that inspires leaders in club members/officers. I want to be that person who will indirectly contribute to their success not only in Key Club, but in other aspects of life as well.
