Barcelona!
Oh. My. God.
I’m glad I had Ali with me for the following reasons:
- We spent a good time lost here in Barcelona. By myself, I may have panicked just a bit.
- The men here apparently think I’m a prostitute.
- We got to watch a couple have sex in a park.
Other than that, Barcelona is lovely!
We only had one day to cram as much of Barcelona in as possible, due to poor planning on my part. We’re off for Paris in the morning (Laura, you’re guide is going to SUPER helpful!) and, due to being extremely exhausted, we slept until ONE pm today. Oy.
First we started by having lunch at Choquito, which I do NOT recommend unless you seriously need wi-fi. While they had the most delicious sangria, they had the weirdest pasta, the worst mutated chicken and the toughest steak known to man (I was warned that you go to Las Ramblas for the people watching and not the food, so I can’t complain too much)

After lunch, full and buzzed, we headed for the Parc Guell, which I was super excited to see, especially for the beautiful views of the city and la casa de Gaudi:

Next, we found our way to Parc de Montjuic, which was GORGEOUS…until I was propositioned…

We wandered here until it started to get dark, then headed towards the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. Because it was after 8, it was closed; however, it also provided gorgeous nighttime views of the city as well as couples having sex in the adjoining parks (look, I consider myself pretty open minded but really? The MUSEUM turned you on? Or the nighttime park aspect? REALLY??)

Finally, we headed back to Las Ramblas, where we enjoyed tapas and sangria before going back to the hotel to sleep.
I didn’t make La Sagrada Familia (ARG!) but we conquered a lot in the one full day we had here. Tomorrow morning, we’re off to Paris. Gonna attempt to catch up on my dash before heading to sleep. Buenas noches!
Fitness: I feel no guilt about what I’m eating these days cause the walking and the HILLS are killing me. Workout quota MET.
