MAJOR INCOHERENT FEELS AHEAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
So today I just watched Paramore for the second time. They could only get better. #winningmomentsinlife
Maybe I’m just really updated with what’s happening in the band right now, but I could feel the positive energy from Hayley, Jeremy and Taylor than their 2010 concert. They just seem to be having SO MUCH FUN onstage! Big smiles, lots of laughs… or maybe I could just appreciate more because I had a better seat this time (lol last time I was in the mosh pit and I can’t do that shit no more haha). Their presence was electric onstage!
Hayley looked super hot with her cut out tee that showed the entire sides of her torso, with her bra peeking out, natch. I know I’m straight as a ruler but dayuuummmmmmmmmmmmm girl. Not crazy about the uber blunt bangs but I’m glad her hair is red for this tour (last time she was blonde for the Brand New Eyes tour and me likey her redhead)
Jeremy is lookin’ fly as always, and I’m glad to see that his chemistry onstage with Hayley was not my imagination HAHA. Taylor IS SO GWAPO! I’m so glad he was on our side of the stage :)) I’m also happy that with the three of them, at least Jeremy and Taylor are stepping up more and interacting with the crowd, not just Hayley. Also I think I’m in love with Hayley and Taylor’s sibling love because of their crazy antics onstage (i.e. Hayley kicked the microphone stand as a rock and roll gesture, then when she turned her back, Taylor put the microphone stand right back up and he kicked it again like the total derp he is HAHAHA).
Standout moments (while it’s still fresh in my mind but I’m sure I’ll forget a few)
Almost everyone in the crowd (well at least for the moshpit and my side of the lower box) knew Now, THANK GOD. :)) Jesus, I can’t wait for their new album. NGL I’m anticipating it with a fair amount of excitement and worry because I have a gut feeling this album is a HAS TO DO GOOD OR ELSE kind of album.
1st anticipated song of the night: Renegade (I think I’m one of the minority who’s more excited for them to play their new songs). Hayley did an acapella version of the first few lines before the drums and guitars kicked in and WOWZA. I haven’t heard her sing Renegade that way before. AMAZING! She did my favourite Singles Club song way more than justice live.
SURPRISE OF THE NIGHT: In the Mourning/Landslide mashup – LOL I CRIED HAHAHA because I was NOT EXPECTING that AT ALL. I thought she was just going to sing the song straightup. And then when she sang the first lines of Landslide everyone around me was deathly quiet and I was the only one who gasped out aloud OMG SHE’S SINGING LANDSLIDE making me sound like a total ditzy fangirl (BUT WHATEVS DEDMA SA KATABI KO HAHA) :)). I love Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide so much, and the first time I watched the video where Hayley sang it along with In The Mourning just meant so much more to me and before I knew it on I was crying silently in my old office that OT night parang tanga hahaha. Indeed I was hoping for her to sing it Oh probably not, she just sang it that way because she was performing the song for the first time BUT SHE DID AND I WAS FREAKIN’ FLOORED.
The Only Exception because it was a real tender moment inside the Arena (lol at all the couples around me who suddenly hugged and become mushy) and all the pretty cellphone lights from the upper box and Gen Ad. I hope someone caught it in video because the view was spectacular! Also, it’s still funny to me that Hayley was able to write a legit love song.
They still performed Careful! I know it’s not a fan favourite song but it’s mine for Brand New Eyes (and funnily enough I just appreciated it after they performed it during their last concert here). If you would ask me what song out of their whole discography I could relate to most, it’s probably Careful. I just have a real rush with that song. SO HAPPY I WAS ABLE TO WATCH IT LIVE AGAIN
Speaking of Misery Business, Hayley pulled a girl from the audience and let her have a rock and roll moment on stage THE LUCKY BITCH (I say this with complete love and sincere happiness for Vanessa because she did us proud by actually able to sing Miz Biz and headbang her way through it woooo #parawhorepride). Hayley was even kind enough to tinker with her camera and take a photo of themselves ONSTAGE, two hugs, and one hug for Taylor ugggghhhh LUCKY
If it’s not yet obvious at this point, I’m just so happy to watch them perform again. I always say this, but Paramore is just really that band that’s best experienced live. Most of their songs are better onstage than recorded because the studio can’t capture that energy and intensity onstage.
And what a coincidence is it that they’ve again performed here in Manila at the time of my life when I feel like I’m coming out of my worst low in years? For the past few weeks I think I’ve been steadily climbing out of my sad zone, I’m not faking happy as much, and best of all, after avoiding it for 2 years, I’ve been writing original stuff for a while now. The funny thing is that how that band has always been there for me (whether it’s a new song or Hayley’s weirdly wise LJ entries) when I know I need to be brave. Their songs talk about hurt, disappointment, anger… but most of all, their songs always make me want to live. As in be brave enough to live through it no matter how much shit I’m going through.
Paramore has always been one of my biggest inspirations and motivator. I know a lot of people have already dismissed Paramore as past their prime, over-hyped, too pop and watered-down… but I don’t give a flying fuck. For some reason I can’t really explain, their songs have always been those little hands that pull me up when I needed just a little help standing up again.
And so, here they are again in Manila. We’re standing in the same room, and performing the songs that make me want to be brave and do great, meaningful things. And I know I will. :)
Can’t wait for their next concert! I’ll never forget this night. :)

PARATHRILLA IN MANILA 2!
So last Friday (021513), was Paramore’s concert here in Manila. Though I didn’t know almost half of the songs they sang, I still enjoyed it. The crowd was awesome and so was the band.

We only had upper box tickets. :-( But at least we heard them live. :-)

Watched it with my sister. Hehe. Hayley’s suuuuper beautiful! Even from afar, I kid you not. :-) I love heeer. Haha.
My favorite part was when they sang “The Only Exception”. The whole crowd was singing with them. I sang it word per word, and by heart. Haha!

Last night’s “outfit”. I ran out of clothes and we were rushing so this was what I came up to. It was a band’s concert so I wore sneakers hahaha lol.
I’ve always loved watching concerts, this one is probably one of the best. :-)
xx,
kay
