Paramore 'Now' opinion

I’ve read some interviews, where they were preparing us for the new song release. I thought I was ready, as they mentioned a bit poppy etc. I was like, well we can still handle that I suppose.. I mean it’s Paramore after all.

Yesterday I heard it for the first time and I was just… so disappointed?
Her voice is what always made me long for more, telling stories so intense. I understand the need for a change and not sticking in the past, but this was just, wauw.. I feel like her voice did not reach me at all and thereby the story. I am also afraid that this whole album will be about ‘better off without them’.

So I took some time to listen to it like 10 times today, to see if it grows on me. Yes, it grows on you a little and I can understand the ‘now ow ow’ is contagious.

But to be honest?
The song actually annoys me a little.
I’ve been an undying fan of Paramore, but I really, don’t like it.
It’s a good song for a random band or top 40 song maybe,
but for Paramore? No.
