Elementary already has one up on BBC Sherlock by casting a 1) Lead female character 2) Who is a POC and 3) Is not an antagonist. I don’t know how they’ll handle her but so far, that’s more than Moffat and Co. have done.

lol I accidentally deleted my original but yes. If you are getting that vibe from the preview, you are getting the vibe from the entire program and it is absolutely terrible. Especially when the Kennishes are not great parents at all. The way they have treated Bay throughout the program should be labelled as emotional neglect. They are quick to throw money around to solve problems, see their reaction to Toby’s gambling addiction. The only adult in this show that has shown common fucking sense has been Regina. She does not allow anyone to treat Daphne less than human. She took Bay aside and discussed her issues with alcohol when she caught Bay drinking. And she was the only one who actually talked to Toby about his gambling addiction and offered him the help and advice he fucking needed. She’s the only responsible character in this series so it is terrible that the show is framing it the opposite the direction. Then, given that Regina is a working class Latina and the Kennishes are upper class white people, the implications are far worse. I am sick of it.
