commitment phobic

not in the terms of relationships.  Well, at least I don’t think I have issues there, but then again…..

I am commitment phobic when it comes to choosing paint colors.  I lived in the same house for 8 years and could not choose a color I thought I could live with.  I had a guest room that looked like pippy longstocking’s socks.  Various colors of paint stripes on a wall to see if I liked it.  In some lights yes in others no.  Now I have been in my townhouse for 3 years and I am dying from white wall syndrome.  I must decide on something.  Thankfully I have quite an extensive art collection, and most are large pieces so my walls are covered with art but I have a yen to actually have paint on the walls.

A good friend of mine owns a tattoo shop.  I tend to go there with friends and watch them get their ink.  He and the guys that work there are always staring at my bare skin, not a tattoo on me.  They long to do something.  But they have NO chance of that!  I love the art they do, I love the art of tattooing, but I cannot think of a single thing in my life that I want forever.  Especially on my skin forever. I know tattoos can be removed, if you change your mind, but that is painful and scars.  Why would someone want to go through that?  why do people do things like put someones name on them.  Yes, we all hope relationships are forever, but in life NOTHING is forever.

Maybe on my vacation I can get inspired and find a paint color I can live with, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
